Title: Battlefield 2 wont run - Win7
Post by: Conk on November 17, 2011, 09:12:27 pm
I have installed Battlefield 2, 100% real on my PC. It installed fine and w/e. But when I open it, the opening picture appears then goes to a black screen for 5 seconds, then returns to my desktop. I have patched it to 1.14 now but no difference, I have changed compatibility, run as admin.

OS: Win7 32-bit
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 - 2.66GHz
RAM: 1.25GB
GPU: Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family (I know, lol)

Changing PC in January. I know the specs dont seem top, but im sure it ran before..

Thanks

It's due to your integrated graphics http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intel945g/sb/cs-021729.htm (http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intel945g/sb/cs-021729.htm)

Well, you really want a better GPU.

your RAM is pretty low down on the scale to run W7 really.

I don't think you will get to work with the integrated graphics I have read that Battlefield 2 requires a card that supports transform and lighting which of course your integrated graphics do not have. You could however try a program called 3D analyze but I have not used it in many years and it may not provide a great visual experience if it does work.

Under Performance Tick Force SW TnL. That may do it but I'll tell you know it may not look nice and will not be great on performance but there is not other way around it.

Have you selected Battlefield 2 as the game you wish to run? Because the image you have placed above shows UT2004.exe
