Title: Tapatalk.
Post by: Nexxt on November 26, 2011, 06:52:30 am
Hey!

The mobile version of the boards are quite complicated and not user friendly to use, so I rather advice making the boards able to communicate with "Tapatalk".
Any chance of this being introduced on Argonath RPG?

If so, please add a function to force normal version on a mobile device.

I hate bloody mobile sites, they're always far inferior to simply viewing the browser original.

My Blackberry owns, it loads the forum normally.

If you are getting the mobile version, why not download opera mini for your phone?

It can load it on WAP version, which can be seen on: http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?wap2 (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?wap2)
But for the highest user experience, Tapatalk is a great solution and I am used to Tapatalk :)

Rather than making a new topic about this, i'll just bump it.

Now that Argonath forum updated i think it would be nice to have support for Tapatalk. It's very easy to install and it's fully compatible with SMF so it wouldn't be a hard piece. And it's free.
I use 10+ forums daily via tapatalk and can't live without it anymore.

Compatible with iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry and Chrome

I know there are others who would agree with me.

Adding support for Tapatalk has nothing to do with mobileviews. It's used by Tapatalk app only.

Tapatalk is a forum app on the iPhone (http://tapatalk.com/mobile.php#iphone), Android (http://tapatalk.com/mobile.php#android), webOS (http://developer.palm.com/appredirect/?packageid=com.newnessdevelopments.forums), Windows Phone 7 (http://www.board-express.com) and BlackBerry (http://tapatalk.com/mobile.php#blackberry). Tapatalk Forum App provides super fast on-the-go forum access to majority of the discussion forums that has activated the Tapatalk plugin.

Gandalf could you even notice this?
It may not seem much to you but the overall user-experience you could let on with this would be much for the grow in the future
In the meantime, i't doesnt ask much from the forum-admin to open this port

This has been asked for several times, "adding support for mobile".. And we all know that mobileviews suck. Now that tapatalk is supported on Iphone and Android, why not?
It's secure.

Wow, I was thinking about a better version of this website for my phone and then I found this topic. It would be fantastic if you allow this and use tapatalk.

The normal layout works perfectly fine on my smartphone. However, Tapatalk would be much easier for touchscreen users.

Please do add this, it takes no more than 5 minutes to setup and makes browsing the forums on the go much more enjoyable.

If you have a slow connection, use the SMF Archive version or try Opera Mini.
As for being free, the free version does not let you post.

It's not down to a slow connection; it's that Tapatalk makes it much easier and much more enjoyable to use forums on the go.

Yes you can, the free version gives tones of options.  :trust:

The FBI forums started recently using TapaTalk for a trial run to see, will monitor its use to see if its worth keeping around. Really just seems like a styled version of the forum in the app, with a notification system. Also not pleased with the lack of documentation and information provided by the publishers.

There's a 'view original site' at the bottom of the page on every mobile phone.

Our stats from the FBI forums

Results speak for their self, we announced it was added, people appreciated it, and never used it.

I don't have a problem viewing the full-blown layout on Android's default browser. There's a zoom-button for a reason.

Even though I always got advertisements for "This forum supports Tapatalk" when visiting it; I simply ignored it

I know that it has been a while sincee someone posted to this topic but it thouth it was a bit useless to make a new topic about this. is there any  chance that  the argonath forums would be able on tapatalk on this moment? i mean we're some time in the future and i think it should be perfectly possible.

It's been considered before, but before we proceed, we need to be clear about some things on our end and the policies of TapaTalk which might interfere with the forum. It will be brought up at the next meeting of our Web Management Team.  Thanks for the suggestion, though. I will keep you informed.

After some investigation, we have decided that at the moment, Tapatalk's way would affect our revenue-generating advertising we have on the forum. If there is a significant change to this, it will be reconsidered and implemented.
