Title: Computer help
Post by: Castro on December 03, 2011, 09:57:38 am
Hi there

I noticed how lots of people with computers post here their problems so I thought to post mine. I bought this computer yesterday of a guy, deleted his data and started the computer fresh with Windows XP Pro SP3. Everything is in working order (I had to install the drives which took long :( ). However, I glanced at the specs and I noticed that I need a graphics card. At the moment I've got a intergrated one but as soon as I make some money I will purchase one. Could you all recommend me a GOOD graphics card which is lets say under 60 GBP. I need this graphics card to run GTA IV smoothly as well as gta sa.

Here are the specs:

CPU - Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5400 @ 2.70GHz
CPU Speed - 2.7 GHz Performance Rated at: 4.05 GHz
RAM - 3.2gb
OS - Windows XP SP3
Video Card - Intel(R) GMA X3500
Video card features -
Video RAM - 384MB
3D - YES
Pixel Shader v4.0

also in general could you tell me if this pc is good?

You're welcome to my old card when I get the new PSU for my 6870.

I can run GTA with about 25fps normally on low-medium settings. But at least it runs that smooth...

(Mine has a quad core and 4GB RAM though...)

Google it. Maybe it'll work. It's nothing special, but definitely better than that shizzle.

nVidia GeForce G210 PCI-e

This card is good, in your price range.

Your PC is good but I would suggest upgrading your CPU or at least buying a better CPU cooler and overclocking it. The Pentium Dual Core CPUs are excellent but you have one of the slowest models.

I had the E5200 overclocked from 2.5GHz to 3.5GHz with a cheap aftermarket cooler and a 9800GT at 700MHz which ran GTA IV at about 50fps.

Check out my video...

ATI Radeon 6670 I reckon is by far the best mentioned here.
