Title: Output from computer
Post by: Ben. on December 04, 2011, 12:37:59 pm
Hey there,

I've been trying to set up my PC to use the microphone, but also be able to stream sound from whatever I am playing on my computer, if that makes any sense...like being able to stream sound from youtube videos etc.
I've just downloaded SAM CAST, and am using SAM Broadcaster. Any help would be appreciated, cheers everyone! I'm doing this because I'm leading the school radio, and I said I'd put some stuff together at home. School isn't a problem, as they bought a big expensive mixing desk thing

Right click the volume control in the toolbar -> Recording devices.

Make sure you have "Show disabled devices" checked/ticked.

Do you see any of the following devices?:
- Stereo mix.
- Wave out mix.
- Mono out.
- What U Hear.

If so, use that as your "microphone" and it will basically input any sound which is being outputted through your computer.

If you don't have any of those devices, then try installing Virtual Audio Cable (http://software.muzychenko.net/eng/vac.htm#download) and follow a guide on how to set it up. It is a nice tool and works well with SAM Broadcaster if set up correctly.

Hope this helps :)

Well, I'm running Windows XP, and when I right-click the volume control, I only get options on opening the volume meter and adjusting audio properties.  :(
