Title: Buzzing sound in GTA IV
Post by: Clone on December 20, 2011, 07:03:46 pm
So I got a new pc, today I installed GTA IV on it and for some reason when I play it there's a buzzing squeakyish sound coming from my monitor, note this is not coming from the speakers.

I've checked all the ingame settings are right..

Any ideas what's wrong?

Sure it's coming from your monitor?

A buzzing sound while gaming relates to coil whine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coil_Noise), which is generated by your graphics card under abnormal fresh rates or resolution. Altering with your monitor settings may have a effect on the sound. If the sound is coming form inside your monitor, then it is most likely obliged for warranty due to that is not normal for a monitor.

I bought a nice pair of speakers now and it doesn't do it anymore. Thanks for the help.
