So yeah I thought I'd just spend some time in GTA3 so I got my disc and installed the game. Installed, played, ok. But after some minutes of playing I started to face some spurts of lag in random intervals and progressively worsening...
Tried things like running as administrator, running on compatibility mode with WXP SP2, changing resolution, draw distance, frame limiter, nothing worked... still lagging...
Oh yeah and I have Windows7 Home Premium 64bit.

Have you checked the task manager as this is happening?

Perhaps some faulty files? Excessive CPU usage? It can be anything :P

Defrag the portion of your hard drive where you have the game files installed.

Do you have Trails set to OFF and Frame Limiter set to ON?
