Title: Abuse or not?
Post by: valmiustila on January 20, 2012, 09:11:08 pm
Hey

Just wondering, is it abuse to do /kill to get full hp / teleport back to the civilization? Common sense says yes, but some people says that it's not, just "act of *oob".

Health should be purchased as you are using /kill you are not spending money on thus gained an advantage. Same goes for using /kill to teleport, only time it would be permitted is if you were stuck inside of a building or a glitch that no other command can resolve. First port of call for such an instance would be the administrators however if there are none you could try this route.

Allow me to add more. If you want to get back to civilization rule abiding alternatives have long been in place and to name a few, /Limo, /Taxi, /Rescue.

Using /kill to replace health or to get back to a location is script abuse.

I wouldn't consider that being script abuse

Else the command would most likely be disabled at all. But even that wouldn't stop people from suiciding by gravity or whatever else.

So whats the use of the /kill command?

It is script abuse, don't do it.

We considered disabling it recently but at the moment we have a bug with interiors that we are working on getting fixed. At this time, without admin help, using /kill is the only way out of a bugged interior so for now it stays.

Just like /helpmeup it is for the sake of trying to solve a bug without admin intervention.

lmao, totally true.

Although, even if they do only care about personal wealth, there's someone looking out for you.

True Fact: I once paid a medic 10k to follow me around all the time I was online so I could get healed quickly.

Nothing wrong with a little private health insurance.

Better than being pulled over by cops, who won't let you go, unless you will go to hospital because of low HP. That happened to me. :D

I think /kill can be used in an RP fashion...I remember being run over by someone, and we had a long RP finished off by me doing /kill to finally die...

Using /kill does cost money, which is $100, Thats more than you spend on a supersize meal.

Indeed, It is used for RP. I remember when Matt Steinberg died, I tried to die in RP to have a good story, but you cant expect that since I had 100k bounty on my head put by me. I finally had to commit suicide by jumping from top of city hall but that alone didn't kill me, Left me with 20% hp still, So I had to use /kill :S

No, it doesn't rip any of your money. It may look like that but it's false.
