Is there a possibility that you can make a message on chat which will say did player crashed or /q? Something like:
Mihail(0) dropped
Mihail(0) crashed
I saw something similar on some other server
-
Not needed, admins have the command.
-
I m not supporting this cause people can abuse it, I m not going into details. I think its better if its just in administration use.
-
I guess it also should stay for admins only since it's abuse-able.
-
I don't really play IV, but may I ask how are those messages abuse-able? They may clutter up the chat a bit, but I don't see how they can be bad.
-
I dont really want to give people ideas or hints on how to use this little line maliciously
-
Okay. I was just curious, anyway.
-
To solve the issue of clutter the message could be displayed locally to the player who used the command rather than publicly. From another viewpoint you could simply ask a player how they left if it brings reason ask.
-
I see no reason or need for a player to know the reason of which another player has left the server, be that crash or /q.
-
when no admins are online criminals have an easy time abusing /q, because noone knows if they quit or crash....
this spawned a lot of debates yesterday.
maybe make it available for AT LEAST the police....
just small thoughts.
-
The function doesn't work properly aswell (relatively high rate of errors), so many times it could cause useless and unfair fights.
-
This will remain admins only, if you believe a player has left the server to avoid something (/q) ask an admin.
If they do it when an admin is not online, send an email to [email protected] with time, date, your name, their name and some details on the situation. If the person is found to of abused /q to avoid something, they will be punished.
