Title: San Andreas Mouse Fix
Post by: EliteTerm on January 27, 2012, 12:10:01 pm
I've been suffering a problem that when you press ESC or to alt-tab and then return back to the game, the mouse simply doesn't respond.

I've heard from someone that there's a fix for it. Does anybody know of this?

Thanks in advance!

When it does it to me, I alt tab again, then select the icon and go back into game. Once back into the game i press esc, then the mouse usually responds

Someone mentioned that there's a fix, like this for Vice City: http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?topic=75808.0 (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?topic=75808.0)

Btw, it doesn't work with SA:MP, I tried.

EDIT: I found a fix for it!!

Right click the gta-sa.exe and go into properties, then go into the Compatibility Tab.

Now check Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 2) (Optional, I didn't need it)

Then go look down and check and make sure to turn on:
"Disable Visual Themes" and

"Disable Desktop Composition" and

"Run This Program As An Administrator" (optional, I use Administrator mode for SA:MP, not the game itself)

Hope it works for you guys!

Everyone else (Including me): 'Rape ESC, eventually fixes it self one day'

Elite: 'Finds a fix, does it.'

I get this problem all the time. I have to keep pressing Esc until it works. There's like a 3% of success per Esc for me:\

I'll definitely give this a go though.

EDIT: OMFG! It works thanks Elite!! <3

Why download a mod when you can just tick a couple of boxes in the compatibility options? :)

Is this fix that I found working for you guys?

I know, it's been a religion for me for a loong time and I got tired of it & interested when omaraly mentioned something about a fix so I googled about it for a while, before finding about this that worked for Hess and me, so far.

Its been working for me 100% of the time since I applied those settings. However, I've heard for others it crashes their game :\

So I guess the result varies for different users.
