Gotta remember that when your time is up.
-
I didn't really know who it was, to be honest.
Gotta remember that when your time is up.
If my only eulogy was on the Argonath forums then that would just be depressing.
-
2011 and 2012 have been some odd years, I will say that. Not to mention, 2012 has just started.
But like most singers, she abused her body with substances.
-
Rest in peace.

Here is what I think about all the people feeling sorry for Whitney Houston and all the drug-abusive artists dieing.
A bunch of hypocrites...what about felling sorry all day, all week and all year about all the children in Africa, that die of starvation...I'm not sorry for a crack-head dieing, she choose her own path, but the children in Africa don't get to choose shit and they still die, while some spend money dieing, others don't have the money or resources to survive...f*cking world we're living in....
-
Oh a drug addict is dead? What a tragedy.

Rip and respect for her work.

Do you think it makes you holy if you do not feel sorry for Whitney Houston passing away? Do YOU feel sorry for those kids in Africa? Do you spend moment for them everyday and pray for them? News flash for you. I do not cry that Whitney Houston died. Sure I respect what she did on her life time and that is to make some great music what touched many. You only see her as self destructive addict when same time mentoning kids in Africa. As I see it your way to see world is to collect all those sad touching things and how we are suppose to just feel bad about how world is. Sure it is sad how things are there but if your point is to respect all individuals as equals and same time you disrespecting this *crack-head*..question goes..is any of us not hypocrite?

I do not cry for Whitney Houston because i feel it would be disrespectful, for all those kids in Africa, I do not cry for them either, so why should I cry for Houston, aren't both equally humans? Plus they did not have a choice as stated above, and belive me, Houston had alot of choices, she died because she wanted to, so why should we be sad for her shouldn't we be happy? She got what she wanted, drugs. I would rather pay respect to those who actually do something for society...rather than those who have a talent and waste them on drugs.

She will be missed. Great artist, meant a lot for gospel and soul music, an example and inspiration for a lot of other artists.

I think you did not read my text at all, yet you did answer to it. Where did I say I am sad about she passing away? I did not knew her personally so I would not have that kinda deep feeling about this. And pay respect for those who did something for society..Well in my eyes she did. Sorry but I am unable to find logic on your texts so I am going to stop this conversation from my side.
-
I did not say you were sorry for her passing away, i just said i wasn't... Really? Did she really do anything for society? I mean, sure entertainment is great and all but a firefighter has done more than her any day. The problem is society rewards those who have a gift, like singing or acting, more than those who actually do something for society.
-
She was singing her most famous song "I will always love you" and at the "AAAAAAAAAAAIAAAAAIAAAAAAAAA" part, she ran out of breath and died.
-
Too soon? nope.

Seriously...

Totally, Winehouse and Houston's lyrics 1/10
Dio's lyrics - over 9000/10
-
Lyrics are the most unimportant part of a song. Shame on you for judging Dio based on a few lyrics he wrote.
-
R.I.P Tupac !! <3

Well that's your opinion. I find lyrics go a long way in a song, and if they're shit, then they really bring the song down.

Ask any musician that attended very good music academy and he will tell you that lyrics are not THAT important, they matter but its not something that is for throwing song away, the way its singed its way more important but yet that high educated musician will tell you to put alot matter into lyrics because half-deaf people care for it.
Thaat is reason why musicians take time into lyrics, otherwise they wouldn't give so much time to it.
-
Lyrics are unimportant?! You have got to be kidding me, right?
Now, tell me why were The Doors so Popular, or maybe Pink Floyd? Sure they were musically great, but the poetry was what they were known for...

If Justin Bieber's "Baby" was sung and played by Dio or "name your favorite band here" it would still suck.

You got my post wrong, to shorten it: real musicians wont throw song away because of lyrics, but regular people will regardless how good music is.
Now pls, go back on topic, this is Whitney Houston topic.
-
Love you always Whitney

Lyrics are unimportant?!
They're pretty far down the scale of importance, yea. Heck, even synth is above lyrics in my scale.

Lyrics are the most unimportant part of a song. That does not mean they are unimportant, just by far not as important as the music itself. The fact that you draw your attention to lyrics so much, just goes to show that you don't know what to concentrate on in music. The lyrics should draw you to them, if at all. Not the other way around. It also disappoints me that you're trying to bring Justin Bieber into this as an example of ''music that sucks''. But let's not elaborate on him furthermore, he's already getting too much attention, on this forum alone.
And are you seriously suggesting that Pink Floyd is know for ''poetry''? I bet you don't own any Pink Floyd album and have only listened to a few songs on ''The Wall'' or ''The Dark Side of the Moon''.
-
I really can't believe what I'm reading here... I hope you guys don't like Nickelback....
What is your definition of poetry? Pink Floyd is well know by it's philosophical lyrics...and by the way my favorite Floyd album is "Final Cut".
And are you talking about what Ray Manzarek used? If your talking about electronic music or techno, I'm not even gonna take that as a consideration.
-
Odd, if not an impossible choice for a favourite Floyd album, quite frankly. Anyways, you don't own any albums?
Not gonna reply on the other stuff, it really is totally irrelevant to my previous post.
-
Love you always Whitney
