Hi guys,
I wanted to ask a question about my Garminfone. I bought it back in the United States when I used to live there, and I got it unlocked here in Germany. I went to this one shop where this guy worked there with some others, and luckily they spoke English and knew how to help me get it unlocked. I believe he ordered an unlock code from T-Mobile or something and I had to wait and also had to pay him for the code as it was not free. Well, I f**ked it up now. My card kept losing credit for no reason, I believe because of the internet, but I was not even going on the internet. I wanted to remove all my accounts synced to the phone, as I thought that would be the problem as well. Before this, I turned off wi-fi and even removed my apps, because I believe some of them interacted with the internet. Even after that, it was losing credit. So I decided to wipe the data off the phone, to remove the synced accounts to the phone (as it was the only way to). The phone wiped the data, and now my phone is asking for an unlock code! I know i can take it to the guy again, as he told me I could come if I had any problems. But, the problem is today I cannot go because I got no way to get there, as well as the trains aren't running today because people went on strike.
I am just wondering, do you guys think that the same unlock code could unlock my phone again? I know I can wait until tomorrow, but I am f**king nervous and going crazy, because I don't want to pay again to unlock it, and most likely won't pay again. I don't have the code, I believe he does, since the only way to unlock these Garminfones is to have an unlock code.

1. I suppose you're nervous and did not run a research on youtube/google about it, even if you did they can be confusing at times.
I do suggest you to wait and take the phone to the guy if you love your phone and want to keep it alive.
However, What makes me wonder is , Why don't you buy a phone which work in Germany?
:ps: Disregard the below paragraph unless you use a U.S. number in Germany .
If its about costing more when you call/text USA, you can simply buy a local number to U.S. here > http://www.localphone.com (http://www.localphone.com) I use it and own a Dayton, Ohio number, costs less than a $1, It works like a base for you in U.S. while you own a number of any country you live in, If anyone calls/texts that number you get it on your phone, also you can use it to call/text U.S. Cheaply

Is the phone asking for an unlock code of the IMEI or the PUK ?
If it is an unlock for the IMEI, you can order one from the interwebz, they do work.
If you believe the guy will do it for free, then wait.

Did you simply get your passcode wrong three times or something, and attributed it to something else?

Phone runs great, and it wasn't something cheap.

Wow, that's nice. I don't use a US number, I am using German number because I got the phone unlocked. Anyways I should get one of those numbers.

I don't really know. I believe the IMEI, it didn't really state why the code was for, but it looked like the IMEI, I believe this is the code that it asks for when you enter a card that your phone cannot hold, hence why you need to unlock the phone.
Yeah, I know you can unlock it, but I already paid once, and if I have to pay same price again, then I don't plan on it, just going to buy a new phone.
I actually got impatient and decided to walk over there. The guy that fixed it wasn't there, it was someone else working and he couldn't tell me much information. So I just left the phone there and said to come pick it up tomorrow in the afternoon, when the guy is there.

No, the problem I had was I was losing credits from my card. I had just put 15 euros in it and I lost 4-5 Euros in a matter of minutes. This was an internet problem. I turned off all things that corresponded with the internet, and I also had to delete some synced accounts. In order to delete these, only way was to wipe the phone's settings, which I dead. Well, when I did that, it asked for an unlock code.

Either you paid way too much, or your phonw is too cheap if you are going to throw it.
Google digitalunlock and see what they charge, I once had to do the same however as I did not reinstall the problem never returned for me.

Price was over $400, but since I had renewed my contract with T-Mobile at that time, they gave it to me for a great deal.
I paid 50 Euros for it because I looked everyone on the internet and I seen those orders, they costed 40-50 Euros as well. I wasn't comfortable ordering it, and I thought I'd rather have someone else fix it, since he had told me had already unlocked these kind of phones before.

Website has very few phones, and mine is one of the ones not included.

However it's the day now, do you still have the phone manual? If yes look for default code in it, usually when you wipe settings of any phone, it asks for a phone lock/ unlock code on restart.
