So this morning, I re-installed windows XP because it was really laggy and my PC became slow.. After re-installing it, I ran it as an adminstrator (Like I always do) and as I was about to plugin my modem, it couldn't recognize it.. I even tried to try with my wire-less internet. That didn't either work so I tried to google the problem and find answers, but I couldn't.. And I've somewhat of forgotten how to fix that kind of stuff since it was a long time ago I did this and figured out the most of it.
So if anyone of you guys knows what may cause it, feel free to tell me.

Drivers?
-
Well since I have a brother.... He keeps all of that away so I won't '' fuck '' anything up etc...
-
How do you expect your PC to be able to form a network connection when it doesn't even know how?
Download the drivers for your motherboard / GPU from dah Internet - Windows XP can't install drivers automatically like Windows 7. ;)

You might as well tell him you've managed to do that even with him hiding things away
Have you found the drivers that you need? If not use a program that can read the hardware and it will state the Brand and model of your motherboard.

Well we've solved this already, he told me to inform him next time I'm about to do things like that lol.
Topic can be locked

There aren't much programs, that can read brand and model without drivers.

Used my laptop for that.

Yeah, at least this one is available to browse the net, even though it's quite slow..

If it's an older system, try a lighter web browser. That may help a little with the loading speed.

Well, I got quite alot of school projects on this one but the laptop itself isn't that old, I think it's from 2011 or so, not too sure about it. But what I think is, that it has alot of program/other files that are taking space and stuff.

As long as they aren't all running at once and your hard drive doesn't need to be defragmented, then you shouldn't be slowed down by just having a lot of files in there. Something else is likely causing that then.

I ran a whole scan of the PC last month, also tried to remove un-neccesary programs and other things that could just waste the space, but I couldn't really find anything really harmful. Except a few infected files (Nothing that you noticed alot.) So I deleted some of my folders. Such as; Downloaded files/Torrents etc. And 2 games. That speeded my PC up a bit, but yet it keeps slowing me down somehow. But I will look further into that.

You may have an excessive amount of temporary files too.
TheRock actually wrote up a nice little topic about this kind of thing. You can find it here:

:)
P.S. Don't forget that your computer should be running both Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware programs! One or the other does not protect you against both forms of malicious software!

I got my Anti Virus running 24/7, but I rarely do a full scan, but I sure will do now.

Most A/V programs will allow you to set up scheduled scans. I would recommend having it run at something like 2 in the morning, or another time when you would rarely be using the computer for a few hours. :)

Alright.
