Post by: Rick. on March 22, 2012, 12:26:42 am
well.. around 2 years ago or smth like that.. i hacked on mw2 on pc and got banned like.. maybe a year ago? Well.. i tried putting my cd in and re-installing it. Installing went good until i started the game, it seemed like the hacks were still in the game and i got this message..

Does that mean my serial number on my CD was perm banned or there is still a hack in my MW2 coding?

Clearing the already existing folder then installing from clean should rid you of this.

Basically uninstall the game, then go to your C(or whatever letter) drive, program files, then search for the folder and delete it if it still exists after the un-installation.

This happened like a year ago, I can't remember the name of the hack.

I uninstalled it with the CD and checked my Program files and found nothing that looks like it contains a hack for COD MW2... Uh..

Can it be that the hack is stuck in my Steam account so whenever i install the game it goes into the coding too?

You would need to place an un-ban request how can we both forget the obvious.

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1385172 (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1385172) This may be of help.

Does it display "Cheat detected" when joining a server? You should also check the VAC ban list for your name to be sure.

I have received a VAC ban - what do I do now?

As Valve has a zero-tolerance policy towards cheating, all VAC bans are permanent in nature and will not be lifted over time. Once you receive a VAC ban you may no longer play on VAC secure servers.

You may continue to play your single-player games. You may also continue to play on VAC-insecure servers. You may access a list of insecure servers by doing the following:

    Open Steam.
    Select the "View" drop-down tab.
    Select "Servers".
    Select "Change filters".
Select "Not-Secure" under the VAC drop-down list.

Try the method as told above, as well checking your Appdata folder(C:\Users\Your Username\AppData) for any files that could lead to the hack.
