Hello,
My computer starts to lag when I play ANY game or watch movies. Browsing sites works (including playing youtube videos). This lag started happening around a week or so. It's not the RAM, virus or disk space. I only consumed 20% of the space. I have 4GB ram. I tried using Defraggler and CCleaner, but it didn't work. I have no idea on what seems to be the problem. I tried loading the backup I made (2 years ago, no games and all.. just the default files) using Acronis. I still experience the lag after doing so.
If you know how to fix this or have any suggestions, please do reply to this topic. Your help will surely be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Operating System?
Can you please post your full system specifications if possible? Also, have you updated Windows recently?

The disk light on your PC is always on? Or just beep like normaly?

Can you check your memory usage using Task Manager?
Right Click on the taskbar > Start Task Manager > Click on the "Performance" tab and either post a screenshot here of the memory usage when playing a game/movie and one when not.
Also, open Control Panel, Click on "Action Center", then click on "View Performance Information" on the left had side bar. Once you've done that click "Adjust Visual Effects" on the left hand side bar again and in the new window, tick the box that says "Adjust for best performance". This will turn all the Windows 7 visual themes down to their lowest setting, but should provide, hopefully, a temporary solution to your problem until a permanent one can be figured out.
Should have asked this earlier - have there been any updates at all, mainly graphics card ones? And are you getting any sort of windows performance issue messages like;

No programs running :

Running GTA SA:MP :

I manually updated the graphics card (if that's what you mean), like going to their site and downloading the specified program to update it. And no, I don't get those messages on which you speak of.
I'm sorry if some of my answers are wrong or out of place, I'm not really that good at computer stuffs.
Thanks in advance.

Have you checked inside your PC for dust? How about temperatures under gaming?
-
There was once this issue which i had once long long back when i had my first pc. (P4 :D)
I use to play cs.1.6 and suddenly after few mins it use to lag even pc restart sometimes..
after few days i found out i never cleaned the cooling fan and a layer of dust blanket was created it looked so real at first i thought it actually is a blanket like cloth :p
but due to improper ventilation my processor use to create lot of heat and it was the main cause which made all my game lag, slow pc performance and random restarts..
So i would suggest try checking it out..
If there is any issue similar like this just blow out the dust with vacuum..
hope it help..

The issue doesn't seem to be with memory usage or CPU usage as far as I can tell from the images you posted. Lets check your video card for any driver issues:
Try rollback your graphics card's drivers to the previous version;
- Go to start.
- Right-Click on My Computer, select Manage and then select "Device Manager" from the menu on the left.
- Expand "Display adapters" by clicking on the arrow next to it.
- Right-click on your graphics card select Properties then click on the "Drivers" tab.
- Select "Roll Back Driver".
If this doesn't help the lag then re-update the driver to the latest version again.

I was wondering that dust could be the problem too. Fortunately, my PC didn't reach the 'restart' stage...yet. I will follow your suggestion and Icy's as soon as I buy that air blower thing..
Thanks.

I updated my driver to the latest version, still doesn't work D:
I'll try to clean my PC for the dust.. Thanks for your help.

Does same for me. On "action toolbar" I have Youtube, Argonath forums and one other site, no porn shit. Just other site. And it fucking lags everytime, even when I close all programs.

one more best idea what you can do to replace blower is use a straw and blow air out it will take a hell long time and we just have to be a bit careful with it :)

My brother had a problem like this, and he said something about the priorities...apparently it had been changed to giving priority to background programs, instead of the one he was using at the time. I guess he'll post how to change it here, as I have no idea!

Press Start > Right click Computer and select Properties > Click Advanced System Settings on the side > Press Settings in the Performance Box > Press the Advanced Tab then select Programs. Press Ok, you might have to restart your computer.
