Title: A question to the managers.
Post by: eymas on March 29, 2012, 06:17:34 pm
Alright i am not sure if this is the correct place to ask but I'll take a shot.

Is it possible to apply for property administration ONLY?
With this I mean that one can manage properties while not being a regular admin.

Is this possible?

No, it's not possible to apply to become a property admin only. Before the admin reform in 2009, The admin system was working on levels, which level 1 and 2 was moderators, level 3 was Admin and level 4 was Property admin.

To go after the old system, Property Admins are level 4 admins which means, you will still have access to moderator and admin commands. That's the reason why only a few specific admins are property admins.

And i suppose there isn't a way to make a new system like Permissions in Minecraft for example?

There is more to it as well. There are rather strict guidelines when it comes to dealing with property related matters, also elements of trust come in to play. What's not wanted is people setting properties willy nilly wherever and however they like. Which may be harder to monitor there being players outside of the administration.

You're right about that...
Maybe there should be some kind of trial under another propertyadmin's sight

Yes the trial will behave like a cute kiddo, and as soon the older property admin logs out, he will go rambo. Good idea!

I honestly wouldn't see why people would abuse it.
I would expect a community ban if they did tho =l

In RS4 it would take a lot of changes to allow other than admins to these commands.
For RS5 we might add the possibility, however it will be accompanied by an automated system to avoid property managers setting invalid prices.

I for one think there should be some measuring system that works in both X and Y axises.(saying it right)
For instance you walk the X axis of the property. then the Y axis. and maybe the Z coordinates if/or possible by firing a special gun(or with a command and a regular deagle) and let a system calculate the size. Or use common sense.

Measurement tools already exist.

I really hope that happends, under strict rules by trusted players of course.
I think that will be a benefit for the administation (?)

Believe we can handle it properly already. The requests of properties has been much lately but not so dangerous.
