If you just attach it to a players hand yes it may look bad in places, when characters are running or if it's not held without a particular stance. You could simply attach it to the torso, but that looks odd.

Could be like be on the arm and aiming a weapon in the same time and like Riot in some town or Bank Robbery. It might look cool.
