A man who blinded his girlfriend by gouging her eyes has admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent[Read More (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-17701804)]

He should get his eyes goughed as a punishment then out in jail for the rest off is life the sick twat.
-
Poor woman, and to think one of her children is only three years old.
This man deserves to have his eyes gouged out too. Call me brutal or barbaric for endorsing severe corporal punishment, but it would make people think twice about doing crimes more than spending a comfortable life in a state prison would.

He will probably become someone's bitch in jail. YA BOII BANGS

This is something I could agree with. However I believe it should only be put into effect if there is solid 100% full proof evidence.

I personally feel a long, long jail sentence would serve as the best punishment. But given that nowadays most prisons are hooked up with game consoles and three course meals, as well as the fact that if convicted, he'll probably serve a couple of years at best, I just don't know. Real justice just doesn't seem to exist anymore.

In this case, the evidence is pretty much obvious. Her son-of-a-b*tch boyfriend should have had his eyes gouged out as punishment too, since I doubt a mother of two young kids would gouge her eyes out just to get someone arrested.
I'm not so easy to shock as a person, as I have seen certain things even at a young age (some involving dead people). However, someone just gouging his girlfriend's eyes and leaving her to be blind for the rest of her life is just something else.

The UK's crime and punishment - Stupid as fuck... You could park your car on someone over here and say 'It was an accident' then only get 3 years for man slaughter... Look at victorian times, they were cutting peoples head off and hanging them until the sun set and now it's all 'Awww, that's a bit to harsh...' This country makes me sick.

First of all, parking a car on a person would be death by dangerous driving as stated by Part 1 Section 1 of the Road Traffic Act 1998.
In which the following guidelines are given:
No aggravating circumstances= twelve months to two year imprisonment.
Intermediate culpability= two to four and a half years imprisonment.
Higher culpability= four and a half to seven years imprisonment.
Most serious culpability= seven to fourteen years imprisonment.
They must also be disqualified for 2 years and ordered to resit their driving test.
A lot of out sentences are pretty stupid really.
Take this for example:
Treason Act of 1351 states that:
violating the sovereigns wife or the sovereigns eldest unmarried daughter or the sovereigns eldest sons wife (aka - sexual intercourse when not married to them)
Will result in the death penalty (until 1998) now it is mandatory life imprisonment.
Same as it's a crime to allow your pet to have sex with the Monarch's pets... The list of retarded laws goes on

The laws you listed at the bottom are just pathetic.

There's a reason "politician" is synonymous with "idiot" in many parts of the world.
