In this idea, a GPS would be scripted, which would have to be purchased at 24/7 as with CB radios and phones. What this GPS would allow you to do is, upon entering a property ID, show you the distance (think /c dis) from that given property. Since its functionality is very basic, the GPS would not be very expensive.
Thoughts?

Don't know if it saw any use even if implemented.
Idea behind it is nice, I got to admit, but for such a simple task, I dunno if it's really worth it.
-
Its main use would probably be for locating unowned properties with no specific location in their name (which is the case for virtually all of them -- especially "X's Place" properties). It could also be used to make property IDs more like addresses.

I don't see any certain negatives

It would be great for newbie taxi drivers and limo drivers. Also, what we can do is feed important locations and places inside memory of a GPS.
Cmd: /c gps location property
eg:
/c gps prawn film
The person would be given list of locations and places that are registered under GPS. People can register their businesses under GPS network, so drivers can use them.

Yea, would be cool for that particular use.

Perhaps all scripted places would immediately be available on the GPS, but this would be good for delivery drivers, taxi drivers, chauffeurs and maybe even emergency services.

Would be really good to be able to trace unowned properties so I support the idea

Supported.

Great idea! This is what server needs! :hurray:

This Idea has my Vote, Supported.
-
Brilliant! Our server totally needs that.
-
Well, I would rather suggest an alternative..
Add a phone line in which people would call and enter the property's ID. Then that scripted phone line would return with the co-ordinates.. Makes much more sense.

Not really, a GPS would be more associated with navigating to a place.
-
Well. GPS does it too, but, yeah, up to you guys. I still prefer the phone line system.

As of 1.95:
- /c buy GPS is available
- /c gps [property] allows you to see a /c dis(tance)-like message to locate a property.
