Title: Windows kernel mode
Post by: Trey_Johnson on June 07, 2012, 09:45:03 pm
So I've been having this stupid problem for a while now, it sometimes just shows me a puprle screen ( when im just surfing online, not related to any game or anything ), and I have to manually restart my pc, also I'm quite positive it's what caused my problems in BF3, and now when I play saints row I have it sometimes aswell. Although, in BF3 the sound also froze, and it saints row it keeps on normal, and the only thing freezing is my screen. I remember that rarely it didnt made me restart my pc manually, and Ctrl Alt Dlt worked, so I managed to see that messege : "windows kernel mode version xx.xxx ( whatever version it is ) has stopped working and recovred succesfully."  If anyone has a solution for this annoyin problem , it would help me greatly. I've searched online and talked to over 10 EA and origin advisors and they're all stupid and have no clue at what they're doing. So if anyone has anything that could help me out, please post it here. Thanks.

After a quick flick through Google(windows kernel mode driver has stopped working) pretty much all search results contain 'Nvidia' so it seems it's clear that this could be a graphics driver related issue. Have a look at this topic it seems to contain a fix http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=224656 (http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=224656)

I know for a fact that it has something to do with the Graphic card beacuse it also says the word nvidia in the error.. I just dont realy remember how it looked.

I'll give that topic a shot, thanks mate.
