Title: /thawme
Post by: Dolfagr on June 09, 2012, 10:22:00 am
I believe /thawme is supposed to unfreeze players for scripted reasons only. As it's already known, when a player enters an interior he has to wait approximately 1-2 seconds until the objects in the interior load. However if he types /thawme straight after he enters he can avoid being frozen until the objects load and perhaps he can take advantage(?) in a shootout. So I am asking the following:

1) Is /thawme only to be used if bugged and for scripted reasons?

- If so does that mean it shouldn't be allowed to use right after /enter to avoid object loading wait time?

- Is it disallowed but still can't be traced?

Thanks for reading.

As far as I recall, the /thawme command is only to be used when one is frozen for no reason and has not been thawed/unfrozen.
If someone was to use the /thawme command upon entering during a shootout;
They ought to be punished for script abuse as they are not only using the command to give themselves an advantage but also misusing the command.

Wouldn't it be kind off script abuse, if the players inside the interior blasted the player entering, while he is frozen? He has no chance to protect himself.

You are to use thawme in situations where lets say the server 'forgets' to unfreeze you leaving you stuck in menus or just simply stuck.

The freeze that occurs upon entering interiors is there to protect us from falling straight through them as it gives time for the interior to load.

It can be traced.

I think the only time /thawme should be used is in the event that the player does not become unfrozen. Upon entering interiors a lot, especially the smaller ones I find myself frozen longer than expected. So therefore it is needed to thaw.

I should also say that, if /thawme is used frequently right as the players enter and exit interiors, the game can glitch and players will get stuck in Blue Hell.

Though many times when I enter a building, it says you are now frozen for 3 secs, and then it doesn't unthaw me, So I have to use /thawme
