Title: A little clarification for the administrators.
Post by: McGarrett on July 18, 2012, 01:37:30 am
Just a little clarification to the administrators. When a guy gets wrongly suspected or is suspected and moaning about it. Make sure the suspect has surrendered and NOT evading. I've seen suspects getting unsuspected during a pursuit many times and basically what you as administrators should do is punishing the player for 'Taking advantage to copbait after abused' or 'Lying to administrators'.

After a suspect evades from a abused crime, it makes it automatically valid.

Believe we are all aware of that fact.

All in all, a player often runs after being suspected as they are afraid of rogue police officers running upto them and gunning them down, however they usually do not get unsuspected once running.
Generally if the person in context runs after being suspected, they are left suspected.

Why would someone ask for an unsuspection if they were expected to /gu, sit there frozen for usually over 10 minutes trying to get an unsuspection? Why not just take the jail sentence? If someone's asking for an unsuspection, it usually means they don't want to go to jail, and what's the difference between going to jail and staying still doing nothing? I just keep driving or do whatever I was doing before I got suspected while asking for an unsuspection, and you shouldn't get punished for it.

You can see who unsuspected the person. Contact this person and make him aware that the suspect was actually evading.

If people get suspected for retarded crimes, like asd or lol, no matter if they are evading, they will get unsuspected.

And this.

Invalid suspection reasons will result in an unsuspection. However, in any other case you are expected to /gu and have an investigation conducted on you and if you are proven innocent from this investigation you can be unsuspected..

Invalid suspections, such as "STEAL MY HAT" and such things are to be directly unsuspected by admins
Wronly suspections, such as "evading" while someone did not, are to be investigated by cops.

So I do not understand the need of this topic, to be honest.

As long as you do not moan in main chat "OMG ABOOZE" and flood /report, as well as go to jail without monaing you can do just that.
If you WANT to be unsuspected, follow the rules or be punished.

Do that when they evaded and lose your rights.

If the suspection is invalid or not should be dealt with in investigation.
We are not going to unsuspect someone because the officer used bad English.
Even in case of a CLEAR invalid reason as "afk" or "lol", the procedure is to check if the player has given up and/or the officer is present, talk to both and only then cancelsuspect. The single exception is if you have personally witnessed what happened and can there for judge the situation.

So, ALL crimes become valid while evading, even the "lol" ones?

Sorry, was not aware of that - thanks for informing

That is why they should be punished for "Using wrongly suspectation as an advantage to copbait". If someone is wrongly suspected, they should /gu right away.

EDIT: Not only wrongly suspectation, but invalid suspect reason.

Hmmm... I wouldn't be so sure about that, "steal my hat" can be RPed. Like for example "Stole a wallet". As I find this a RP reason, it should be as well investigated by the cops.

A usual punishment for copbaiters is /disarm. By removing all weapons they can only run, give up or whine and be kicked...

Indeed, but why should they be given the advantage to bait cops in order to be chased as they were suspected with a non-valid reason?

There for freeze both and check, then decide.
