Title: GTA SA doesnt want to work properly
Post by: Huntsman on July 19, 2012, 03:25:13 pm
Basically, my GTA SA doesnt want to work properly. When im playing i can feel that it lags, if the frame limiter is on, it also keeps crashing every few minutes of gameplay and its impossible to play singleplayer missions because of that..

My computer is new, it was bought this december, it has 4GB RAM, ASUS EAH6850 video card 1GB, Intel Core i5, 2500 CPU 3.30 GHZ, windows 7 32bit.

It can handle BF3 and GTA IV just fine, so its not problem with my computer

Disable the frame limiter?

Disable the frame limiter?

It reduces the lag, but it crashes faster than with frame limiter on... It's annoying, youre in the middle of a mission and then it suddenly crashes, you have to do it again and then it crashes again and its impossible to beat.

Only HD cops by Dolfa_Kiedis

Does the crash give some specific message?

It's only "Program stopped responding"

Start from basic things;

Delete the GTA_SA.set file in GTA SA User Files(Documents)
Try a clean re-install
Try running it as administrator
Try switching the graphics or disabling things like Anti Aliasing and Visual FX (they cause lag also, actually the shadows..)

I'd also suggest cleaning your registry. Use CCleaner (http://www.piriform.com/promo/ccleaner-160512?gclid=CN6OgKGdp7ECFQ8CQAodkEEAuQ) to do so.
