Well hello...
I have breaked the minor rule while using an notebook, and its "dont drink near pc" but i did it and sadly a drink flipped on the table causing some weird damage to the laptop. The laptop took the drink on the right side ( number buttons, dvd rom and abit of display) it was not much of the drink landed on the pc... i have turned it off, took the battery out and washed it with dry paper... Everything seemed to work properly, i have checked whole keyboard, sounds, dvd rom etc.. and then i have faced the problem. The display started to shake'ing up and down.. i have connected the computer with tv via hdmi cable and on tv everything was normal, only the pc display seemed to be damaged. it happened at sunday and i gave the laptop to the shop at mondey, they gona send it to repair etc.
soo heres my question... what could happen there, are this only a display damages? cause gpu is working (what i have seen after connecting pc to tv) Simply i dont want to pay more for the repair as its needed, while i can get new lcd display for around 70 euro, and they most likely will ask for 200-300 or even higher.
Second question, after repairs can i use pc normally? or do i need to be worried that in few days will broke something else cause of this incident?
Laptopvwhat we are talking about is Toshiba Satellita L670-1H9 with 17,3'' display
please dont say smth like "omg dont drink near pc" or stuff like that cause it wont help and it will cause only offtopicsh etc...
"the gpu was checked on gta sa while conneted to tv, and i have not noticed any problems like lower fps etc"

It is pretty impossible to know exactly what has been damaged. If you are lucky it will just be the connection to the screen, and a new one should fix it. If not, expect the damage to spread slowly.

hopefully you are right Gandalf. And its possible while i was drying the pc i was keep opening and closing. I really did not know what to do in this situation cause it never happened before...
i will get an message from service in around 10 days but anyways wanted to hear an opinion from people with good knowledge.
if anyone had problem like this feel free to say what/how you fixed it.

What was the drink?
If it's orange juice, you're probably fucked, if it's water, just let it dry.
If you switched it off, removed the battery immediately and the drink was only water, then all it needs is time to dry.
I the power remained on, could range from no damage to irreparable damage.
If it was orange juice or similar, EVERYTHING needs cleaning with Isopropyl (alcohol) or similar as the acid will eat away at the circuitry.

It's probably fucked then mate :/
I wouldn't bother spending any money on it.
Fitted, you're probably talking near 100GBP (with fitting) for a new screen if it's the screen, 40GBP (with fitting) if its the cable, 100GBP (with fitting) if its the motherboard.
You'd need to buy each part to truly determine which is at fault, unless you have some old secondhand stuff laying around, plus most techies charge a fee to diagnose the fault initially.
Buy a new machine.

Toshiba repair is expensive like hell, just to note you I used an unorginal charing cable and the mother board burned, whole laptop was for about $500, they asked for like $550 just for putting a new board

That's why you should always get laptops with spillproof keyboard. :poke:

PROTIP:: If it needs repairs don't go near the offical toshiba repairing service, lately I hade a problem with my toshiba laptop which costed around $600 when bought, they said I needed a new board for $650, so I took laptop and went to a local repairing store, they said it'll cost only $80... It's unbeliveable man..
