Title: Paranormal activity
Post by: Zlatan on August 12, 2012, 10:19:34 am
Do you believe in ghosts, or demons? You should watch this movie called "Paranormal Activity"... A young couple, Katie and Mika lived in a two floor house. When she was six, she believed she experienced her first haunting that was going on, including her house being burnt and much more. Its believed that she has a demon following her all around. He decided to document the strange fenomens with his new camera he bought, and show it to the whole world. Now, you gotta decide.. Just the trailer has 30 million views. From doors being shut, her getting up from bed, standing whole THREE hours watching Mika sleep, without remembering any of it... I freaked out. Especially, the WORST part is in the last... I couldn't sleep all night...

There is episode 1, 2 and 3. You should watch it. Its being played in the cinema's aswell.

Quote
Paranormal Activity is a 2007 American supernatural horror film written and directed by Oren Peli.[1][2][5] The film centers on a young couple, Katie and Micah, who are haunted by a supernatural presence in their home. It is presented in the style of "found footage", from cameras set up by the couple in an attempt to photograph what is haunting them.
Originally developed as an independent feature and given film festival screenings in 2007, the film was acquired by Paramount Pictures and modified, particularly with a new ending. It was given a limited U.S. release on September 25, 2009, and then a nationwide release on October 16, 2009. The film earned nearly $108 million at the U.S. box office and $194 million worldwide.[6] Paramount/DreamWorks acquired the U.S. rights for $350,000.[7] It is the most profitable film ever made, based on return on investment,[8][9] although such figures are difficult to verify independently[10] as this is likely to exclude marketing costs.[11]

The film is pure fiction, it was presented in the camera form, recorded that way. It was also confirmed that the film is pure fiction and does not hold any real life resemblance whatsoever.

For me the first one was pretty damn cool.
Second was shit.
I have yet to see the third one, is it still being played in cinemas? :trust:

The idea it self is not even new. I remember around 2003 I was watching at Halloween a documentary (so it seemed) on BBC. It started with some usual storied about haunted houses, and there was a live watch of one house that was supposed to be haunted.
Seemed to have been a repeat of 1992....look below, part 2 is also to be found.

The film series is god awful, more of a comedy if anything due to its poor elements of "possessed" people. Also since the first one came out millions of these terrible excuses for horror films have been coming out, all with stupidly low budgets expecting a masterpiece, good example being the chernobyl diaries, I could have done better with my Ipod camera...

Well as far as i know, the movie is recreation of what people "Said" what happened, and if in the "real" one had videos why not use them in the movie?
Maybe it is a lie or maybe the creators are trying to make something out of nothing.

Let me put up some shit for y'all so you can either laugh or cry.

At this place for older people, in the same room, in the same corridor, while you work at night. You will be hearing someone/something scratching the walls, also walking with their feet scraping the floor audibly. It has been checked that it is no one of the people living there who does the sounds, yet it is happening more than often. Also at this place, everyone who moved in to that room always asked the personal to shut off the music. It has been told that long before it turned into a place for older people, this room belonged to an old woman, who used to play music for her children/grandchildren. Some of the older people also heard children laugh and cry during the nights.

At my godmother's guesthouse on the countryside, in an old fantastic house, when it gets cold and windy during the nights, you will be hearing an old women humming on old bedtime songs. You can hear it clear and it is actually pretty fearful, even if you know there's no one there. It has been told that it happens because of an old woman, holding youth housing while their parents were away. She quickly died during some unknown circumstances and this has been going on for at least the last ten years.

In my apartment, once or twice a month, a bulb in our bathroom is unscrewed without no one touching the bulb. There's no chance that it unscrews itself considering the tilt it has on the wall. It has been told it's my dad's way to communicate with us (may him rest in peace), as he worked as an electrician during the hot summers for a few years.

At my old girlfriend's place, at the same time every evening, you'll hear a girl scream unpleasantly like she's getting raped and murdered at the same time. The scream is awfully loud, and does happen EVERY evening at the same time. The neighbors has been wondering where the heck the scream comes from, as it is more common that it's some psychopath shouting violently than believing it's something totally different. This is still happening and no one has a good answer what it is. It's the worst scream I've ever heard. Imagine you relaxing at your girlfriend's place in the late evening, and this scream scares the shit out of you. The first time I visited her place, I didn't know her code in, so I pretty much looked into the staircase and blam, something just scared the hell out of me screaming.

Honestly, I can't care less if you don't believe in ghost or whatsoever, bro. It's up to you.
I'm pretty sure they exist, not as you see in movies a white shadow boo'ing around, but I'm pretty sure they exist. In the previous post there are multiple reasons for me to actually believe in something like that.

GandalfJr refusing to go to bed. Well ok no direct explanation there but if it is to the second the same time it could be investigated.

Story. In a house we once lived the first night we woke up from someone banging on the door loudly. Nobody to be seen anywhere, front or back. But the garden house did have the door open, even is nobody inside. Closed the door. After about 30 minutes, again loud bang. Nobody to be seen. Repeated a number of times during the night. The next morning again the garden house door was open.

Well each house has its own lets call it "house voices" what sometimes do sound weird but they are all explainable by natural phenomenons. This is my experience so far.

This is a bit weird to type as I have never really believed in this short of thing until yesterday night. My friends moved to a new house 3 days ago. We have spent 2 nights actually sleeping there so far. The first night went really well, but we were so tired from moving we basically hit the bed and fell asleep.

Well last night is a bit of a different story. We have 2 bedrooms across from each other then a hallway which leads to a bathroom and a pantry and the entrance to the living room and kitchen. About half way down the hallway is the attic entrance as well. Around 11PM-12AM as we were trying to fall asleep we heard "something" snuffle its feet across the hardwood floor and play with the door knob of the pantry door. And then didn't hear anything after that. We did hear some weird higher pitch sounds coming from the basement but that could have been anything so that part didn't scare us, but the foot steps definitely did. We were scared to death, but we had to check it. I slowly stepped out of the room and began walking down to the living room, I saw a strange black shadow literally flying around the room. Ok this is 18+ part, don't read if such stories scare you.
I screamed "WHAT THE FUCK" the shadow stopped for a second then slowly began approaching to me. I just stood still like an ice cube. I could sense the thing on my body as it kept coming closer and closer, it was as if I'm thrown to southern pole buttnaked, so cold. The shadow slowly began transforming into a life form, it eventually became a walrus. We had sex all night long, now she is right next to me while I'm typing this. We're in love.

Nope. But any wind noticealbe could barely move a tree leave, and would not have the power to move doors or make banging noises.

Old buildings, rats, cockroaches, creaking floors. Music from room downstairs where staff relaxes when nobody calls.
There's no one being able to play music during the nights. Building recently renovated with no whatsoever creaking floor.

Wind in the chimney.
It has already been proved that there's no wind in the chimney that can occur this/these sound(s). The humming is extremely clear and it's most likely happening every time someone is sleeping in the guesthouse.

Traffic. Use tape.
Doesn't make any sense, since it's just the same bulb unscrewing itself.

Even if renovated, old buildings still have their share of invisible but very live guests.
I am pretty sure that the humming will be explained if it occurs every time.
Vibrations of traffic can make a bulb unscrew, so try to stick it and see if the ghost still manages.

About my story:
The loud noises were the result of a poorly constructed central heating. Every time the fuel pump started, it created vibrations that made loud banging noises.
We found out that we shared the garden house with a family of cats, who enjoyed having a dry place to hide from sun and rain. They never learned to close the door behind them though.
