Use https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URL instead.
It breaks my cool links: http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=85746.0 (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=85746.0)

Ah, and the whole forums revolve around you and your links. Will note this down.
Why don't you come up with a reasoning that benefits the whole forum.

That was just an example, it's not that hard to figure out, is it? We can NOT link them without embedding them.

What's the purpose of disabling embedding? It looks better embedded instead of a plain link.

Because not every single one of us wants to embed it? You would still have the option with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URL. As you can see from the topic, I want to have the link as a title for the track. This way we could also have walls of text with videos LINKED instead of getting them randomly embedded in the middle of the text.

[nobbc]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njos57IJf-0[/nobbc]
Merry Christmas
the [nobbc] tag tells SMF not to evaluate the text as BBC, thus will not automatically embed videos. Then you can do this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njos57IJf-0 (http://goo.gl/GAipq)
This is using Google URL Shortner, http://goo.gl/ (http://goo.gl/) and this code:
[url=http://goo.gl/GAipq][nobbc]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njos57IJf-0[/nobbc][/url]
The reason you have to use Google's shortner is because if you place the link in the URL tag, then it'll process the link as youtube video and will embed. Also, you don't need to use Google's shortner, you can use
any shortner you wish to produce the same service.

Sadly this doesn't seem to work.

I've updated my post on how to link it.

So we have to use painful workarounds when theres a perfectly good solution for this? Seems a bit unnecessary.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonaid :)
Not everything is going be a walk in the park in life.
But as for now yes this is the only work around. It doesn't take that long to do, just a few copy and pasting here and there. If you'd like, I can make you a script to do it automatically for you but it'll have to use the TinyURL API as they allow unlimited requests.

Sure, it only take a few minutes, but its still a pain. Would indeed be nice if we could use the method I suggested above.
Edit: And I can only embed two videos, too... http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=86900 (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=86900)

wat.
Ever since we've had the automatic embedding, I've been enjoying it, since I no longer had to use the [youtube] code, which I (had to) use on other forums at that time. I've never really had any problems with the automatic embedding on the Argonath forums, but I do see why you're suggesting that we should change it to manual embedding. A code gives more freedom and more options to the user, which is why I support this. Apart from that, I'd also like to point out at that the new embedding limit is a bit too extreme for my taste. Embedding is a nice thing.

Done.
Here it is: http://goo.gl/i3sZV (http://goo.gl/i3sZV)
Simply copy and paste the youtube link into the provided box, then click convert then a box will appear with the exact BBC code needed to use as link. A courtesy start over button has been added as well. Enjoy
**It seems the forums do not allow Tiny URL services, give me a moment to change it out with another service**
UPDATE: Done. Now using Google service, which works on these forums.
