Title: Random
Post by: Lamar Diasso on August 24, 2012, 06:22:37 pm
Hi, this is just a question and absolutely NOT a complaint or a pounce on anyone.
For example, me and my buddy, we're standing by our house, and then I decide to knock my buddy because I just feel like it, then he'll do the same and then no one will say a word.
Is this classed as DM or not? Because we're both notified about it and we're both on it. I've seen lots of admins doing stuffs like this. So that's why I'm asking.
If this is considered DM, is this really such a harsh rulebreak that people has to be kicked/warned officially? That's the question! Nothing else.  :)

It depends entirely on the situation and the intent of the players involved.

For more specifics, please use the 80+ pages SA:MP Developers Answers topic.

It's allowed.

If an admin sees it he might be confused, but instead of kicking/warning immediatly, it's much smarter to just talk about it before taking action in the form of punishment.

Do not trust what player say, even if they are ex-admins.
It may look innocent but some players kill a buddy on purpose so they get wanted, then go together cophunting. Depending on what and where you are (Balla in Idlewood= bad, farmer in desert = good)
and how often admins saw you as wanted you may be warned.

Didn't think of that...can't see the reason to lie to such a question though.
Yeah but I didn't mean killing for cops, meant just random fighting for some laugh when we're both notified and wants too. Should it really matter if me any my buddy stands in Idlewood doing it or on our farm?
Or is it just to avoid administration to get confused if DM or not?

As I mentioned in the other topics, it is not a matter of value of players, but the chance of an admin spotting it and consider it as unwanted behaviour.
Idlewood is often the scene of violence, so any non-RP related violence there might be seen as DM faster.

Okay but IS it allowed if we're both doing it, even though neither of us have insulted/done anything to the other one but yet he feels to fight?

As said, its up to the admins to judge. Fighting until death just because 'you feel to fight' would certainly be frowned upon.

In my opinion punching friend fro lols and giggles is plain DM as any other DM. If your assault doesn't includes roleplay reason then it should be dealt accordingly. I always warn players not randomly punch each other, being friend is not a reason tho show example for newcomers how to do it wrong.

Friends or not, I would consider it deathmatching.
What if newer players see people randomly attacking each other? They will start doing it.
If you want to fight each other, take a break and go on ParUni.

New players are not retards, if they see two guys laughing and punching eachoter, wont make them dmers. Happened to me a lot that a new guy punches me, I simply punch him back and talk in local chat so he knows its for fun. 90% of players thinks newbies are mentally retarded people with no brains at all, their not.

Ok so it's an individual rule from admin to admin and mood to mood? Am I allowed to or am I not allowed to? I know already it might lead to confusion, but some say it is some say it is not allowed...?  :hit:

Do not attack others without a proper role-play reason.

Don't have a proper roleplay reason when attack? Expect to be punished. It's even worse the players kills eachother and then start to shoot the police as they are wanted for killing their friend.
I can see the fun in attacking eachother (without killing) but please, do it on a suited location. Idlewood and Los Santos in general is not a good location. More likely Tierra Robada and Bone County is a suited locations as the police do not patrol there so often.

As with anything in the gray area of rules.

Supported 101%, always i keep /idle at LSCH stairs i get punched everytime by all kind of players, and just piss me off, because i lost my armor (i am not rich), and need to type /idle 2 again (XD) and i dont kown the reason they do that. Maybe its kind of instinct to check if i am alive
