Unless you have the original file as in .psd there's no way to crop it without losing transparency.

How can you manage to "lose" transparency when cropping a photo? ._. :razz:

It depends on how you edit the picture while cropping.

It depends what program you use, and what format you save it as.

Transparent formats:

Also when you export, there will usually be options to set it as a transparent type image.
