Title: Upgrading CPU

ok Here is My  thingy...

Processor : AMD Athlon XP 2000+
CPU: 1.6
RAM: 1GIG
HD (not Aplicable)

SO could i update my CPU to a 2.6 or somethign?

1. Check the brand and type of your mainboard.
2. Go to the site of the manufacturer.
3. Find out which processor can be fitted.

OK cpu is 32bit so forget 64bit ones amd socket, sooo

The best thing i recomend for that type of cpu socket is barton 2800+ /3000+
ram ok
hdd 260gb wester digital(have rlly good expirience with them , much better than maxtor)

The one that came with your computer... If you lost is research the PDF file... Replaceign a CPU is litteraly like RAM... but even easier

Firstly go there, download CPU-Z from the link in the top left corner.
Then open 'cpuz.exe', and post a screenshot of all the information in the 'mainboard' tab.

Then we can find which motherboard you have, and the best CPU it can handle.

True, true post your motherboard info so we will know your cpu socket...
Teh rest is easy...

But for now (blind guess) i still suggest barton 3000+, (based on u having a 32bit amd procesor)
