There are not even words for how upsetting this is. The Officer Down Memorial Page website doesn't even have information on it yet, it's such new news. My heart goes out to the Officer and his family...

Although I never had the honor of meeting this Officer who worked so close to my home...I can tell from his donations after his death, and the service he did for the community, that he was a great man whom I have great respect for.

The loss is tragic...and the sacrifice is even greater...

Steven Seagal said it well:
"It is a lot harder now to be a police officer than what it used to be."

There are few professions more noble than putting your ass at risk of death in the field so that your people can all sleep safely at night. While there are some corruptos who would rather use the law enforcement for their gain, let us not allow those to diminish the impact of the honest law enforcers.
