Right, I've got a HP Touchscreen computer in Holland (I life in France) that is coming over soon, only problem is, that the HDD doesn't always work. It has been replaced like 2 months ago (it's a 1 TB harddisk, the computer is less then a year old), it works again if I push the cable in, but, it does not take long (maybe 2 weeks) before it is lose again.
I personelly think that I'll have to replace the SATA cable, but, this is quite hard in a touchscreen computer.
Opinions ? Maybe a piece of tape would work.

Tape will come off over time, the SATA cable should clip in firmly, if that's managing to come lose then you have done something bad.
If it's a new drive and it still comes out, then replace the cable or have it replaced depending on your experience with that hardware.

The problem is that I've never actually toughed that cable, only once when the problem started, I sended it back to the shop back then and they told me the harddisk was broken.
They placed a new Western Digital 1 TB disk in it, and claimed it was fixed. It took me a month or I had the same problem, and they claimed again that the harddisk was broken, that is where I started to test the disk, nothing wrong with it.
The power cable for the harddisk is in the same cable as the sate, they're together. Might be hard to replace them.

Seems like they're lacking experience with computers to instantly blame the hard-drive.
Does the computer get moved around often or just sits on a desk? If it's doing the same story as before it seems more like a cable related issue than a hard-drive issue, I mean two drives wouldn't just break for no reason.
Try press the cables in firmly then try start the computer and see if it works after that, if it does then find out about replacing the cable/s.

It gets moved around now a lot, due the fact it will have a 8 hour journey soon to my new desk.
I'll see what I can do.
