Once there was a Japanese man called Shigesaku Sumiyoshi. When he was young he was great student and has always been very smart. He was the first family member that graduated. His family had a criminal background since the first Sumiyoshi. There were always trouble within the Sumiyoshi's.. Like Shigesaku's father, who was serial killer. Or his uncle, who was a drug- and weapon dealer in the streets of Tokyo. A graduated Simuyoshi was a dream for Shigesaku's family. They have always wanted that someone of the family would lead a normal life, like having a good job, earning money legally and find a women to make a happy new family with.
The beginning
Shigesaku always knew about the criminal activities that his family members had. But he believed he could do something good for the family, which was living a normal, good, happy life without murders, robberies and such things. This went all well until he came home from his girlfriend and saw that his whole house was messed up, and unfortunately found his father, mother, grandfather and his older brother dead in the building. His whole family was killed by a street gang, because his dad was caught during one of his criminal operations. This was a real shock, and he was standing alone.. He was the only Sumiyoshi that was still walking on earth.
He was very depressed for quite a period, but he wanted to take revenge on the murderers.. Revenge on those filthy animals who did this to his family. He learned quite a lot about the criminal activities because he heard his dad or uncle or any other humans that were related to their criminal activities talking about that kind of things. He managed to meet up with some guys where his father was working for at the time that he was still alive. Shigesaku learned fast, and shortly became a man that made people pee in their pants and made them fear him.
Revenge stayed out
It was 1958 and things weren't going well for Shigesaku. He still didn't find the murderers of his family and he thought it was time for some help. He did a few phone calls and arranged a meeting with people he met while he was living the criminal life as well. He needed their help to survive, and find the murderers. This was the year the Sumiyoshi Yakuza was founded. In the meanwhile that was still searching for the killers and was active with his group, he met a woman and they got a child in 1982. This was not just the year that Haruto was born but also the year of the war between several criminal organizations in Japan. It was heavy, living like this in a time of war with a young child that was desperate to survive.
30 years later, in 2012 the Sumiyoshi Yakuza was mostly active in San Andreas. That year, 2012, in October the father of Haruto was killed during a drug deal. This meant that it was time for Haruto to take to throne at this organization, and so he became to boss. The 'oyabun'. The murderers of the Sumiyoshi family tragedy had been killed in the war in Japan. There has been no revenge, but just another reason for Haruto to continue and lead the Yakuza his father once started.
