Title: Xbox 360 Slim Cooling Mod
Post by: =AV=Rob on November 12, 2012, 05:11:10 pm
Ok so when i got my 360 i wasn't happy with the fact that after a few hours of having it on the temps were around 50.c
So i decided to do a couple of things to it and now the temps hardly ever go over 28.c
Heres some pics.

They're convenient when you don't want to buy a $1000 PC every 2 years.

It puzzles me why nobody developed a console with mouse support yet. I'd buy it for sure

I'm pretty sure PS3 supports mouse and keyboard at least on some level.

I saw some unofficial plugins for both consoles for mouse support with different configs for different games but I doubt they all work fluent if they need to make a config for each game eh

If they add keyboard and mouse options to consoles, we might as well refer to it as a computer just like any other. You already have the ability to browse websites and whatnot on the PS3, and in my opinion that defeats the whole purpose of a console. They should be cheap alternatives to good PC gaming, not cheap alternatives to PCs in general.

What?

There are some Playstation 3 games that support the Mouse and Keyboard. I know the GUI allows it to be used.

I know Unreal Tournament 3 allows complete mouse and keyboard functionality on the Ps3 as well, and even LittleBigPlanet 2 allows it for creating levels.

I hate consoles, I wish there was no such thing as "exclusive" games or I wouldn't have to buy them.

:ps: Why do you worry about 50C?? The new gen intel processors reach 105C without a problem.  :hurray:

Does Xbox sucks so bad?

That's not true. If you go above 80 every day, don't expect it to work for more than 2 or 3 years.

Ivy Bridge gets so hot because they used bad TIM between the heatspreaders and the cores themselfs. That's why I chose Sandy Bridge instead of Ivy Bridge, so that I wouldn't have to take risks by removing the heatspreader.

I have 3rd gen, i7 3630Qm in my laptop. Doesn't heat up, it hates very less compared to my second gen i5, but it says its safe even if it reaches 105.

I was talking about Socket 1155/2011, but if your CPU reaches 105 a lot, then don't expect to be using it for more than a few years.  :D

I am terribly sorry for you and your country if you have to give in $1000 for a good gaming PC.
