My school network is a typical one, almost everything is blocked.
For school projects however; I must have an open connection to my home server; where everything is stored.
Yet i cannot connect using SSH, RDP, FTP or similar.
Then i found VPN services and those worked, yet... another question remains on which i need a clear-up.
Is it allowed to play upon Argonath's servers using a proxy?
Main reason is that several sources show that I am apparently from the UK while using the proxy.
If i could find a way to use my home server as a proxy, i would do that. but how would I go into that?

Well I can't answer your question really, but if you get a ban it would not go on your actual IP, I guess.
That could be the only problem.
But one question remains for me:
How can you use a proxy for SA:MP?
I can only use them for opening blocked web pages...

Oddly enough I could connect to SA:MP and Teamspeak while testing it. Since i can now SSH into my server via my school's network its okay.
I use the following: https://www.privatetunnel.com/ (https://www.privatetunnel.com/)

When I put it in my browser, it just says website not available.

If you're not using a proxy to banevade or anything of the sort, it's alright.
But then again, if you get banned for banevading while using the proxy as your IP might match someone elses that used it prior to you, you will have some issues.

That is a risk yes, as the proxy could have an IP that's banned.
But its good to have this part of knowledge.
I wonder if this would be the answer of Gandalf :pop:

But the question from me remains, where to put the proxy url in?

We do not prohibit the use of proxies. However if a proxy gets banned or blocked, chances for unblock are lower as with normal routes.

Thanks for letting me know this.
I would only use VPN/Proxies to bypass the blocks of my school network in the first place so don't worry ;)

And the chance gets a little higher to go on SAMP at school...
But still, how do you use such a proxy for SA:MP?
You can't use it with SAMP directly.
I don't know if a mod for this causes problems...

Probably.
Some clients tunnel web-traffic only, while some do all the traffic.
this idea came into me cause quite a few hours were scrapped due to sick teachers =)

To your question;
Try the OpenVPN client.

Well, can you give me a little tutorial on this?
