Title: Windows 7
Post by: Michael_LV on January 09, 2013, 09:21:33 pm
Okay, so recently I installed Windows 7. I have an XP on the PC too so you can say it's a dual boot system or w/e. What I noticed is, my games ran completely fine on XP, no lag (spikes), all on high. But on W7 I get sudden lag spikes for no apparent reason. Like, on XP mw3 would run 60 fps constant, while here, it goes from 60 to 15. I really do not know what may be causing the problem, and I'm really annoyed by it. My system specs:

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz (2 CPUs)
Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 4650
Memory: 2560 RAM
DirectX version: DirectX 11

If anyone knows any solution or knows of a way to help, please do. Thanks.

Your computer is old. It can't handle Windows 7 AND videogames.

This is rather likely, but make sure ALL your drivers are up-to-date, including sound and network drivers.

I know it's a big bump (sorry  ), but yeah, updating the drivers did the work. My PC runs faster then ever, thanks guys. :)
