Title: GPU for a setup
Post by: Fuzzy on January 26, 2013, 08:13:15 pm
Hi, about to order a new GPU and some few more parts for my rig....could I have some suggestions, my budget for the GPU is about 200-300€ and so far I have been looking at either GTX660 or HD7xxx, but which one should I take?

My CPU will be 3570k incase you wish to know so the GPU will not bottleneck it :razz:

I bought the GTX 660 a few days ago and I can say that is it totally worth it! I can max all my games at a high FPS and it is relatively cheap :)

I really recommend the GTX 660 for you, dunno bout the other card but :)

GTX660 =/= GTX660 Ti

Slightly more up-to-date chart for comparison, although the GTX660 is still a good card. ;)

I recently got the HD 7870 and it is fastastic. Can run everything on high/maxed settings so far including GTA IV, Arma II & BF3!

I also recommend the GTX660Ti. It's probably the best card out there for its price, right now. I've used it myself, and it just runs everything slightly more smoother than the HD7870 that a friend of mine used to have (sold it because of the AMD microstutter stuff and a few more things that were related to video recording). I'm not saying the HD7870 is a bad card, I'm just saying nVidia is ahead of them in architecture.
