Hi,
I have had this problem now for two months and for three days ago i decided to try fixing it.
I can just hear some sound in sa:mp like shooting and the wind, but cant hear driving sound or walking sound.
Therefor I decided to reinstall my gta to see if it was any mods, and the problem was still there so no it doesent have anything to do with the GTA_SA.
This is a hardware problem, my sound works perfectly fine with forexample other new games, can anyone help me? solver gets 50k.

Try renaming your San Andreas folder or moving it to somewhere else.

I used to have that problem. All you need to do is open your Audio Manager (for example Radeon HD Audio Manager), open your speakers tab and instead of 5.1 or 7.1 speaker - select Stereo or Quadraphonic (smtn like that) and click okay. All this worked fine for me.

Yeah check the configaration in software and the normal sound drivers update and maybe check your jax connection if its in all the way or in the right port? ;)

Is your GTA legal? Such problem exists in illegal versions only. :poke:
and if its illegal *cough* pm me, maybe I can help you out.

Piracy is not allowed over Argonath, PM are watched by The eye of Sauron and his big pile of managers/forums admins/etc..

I bet half Argo has an illegal copy of GTA.

 only SA, VC is dead cheap, and people like to buy IV.
I buy my games tho, since I can't be arsed to download games or movies on 15GB connection. :D

I'll just give him a link to audio files -.- that's not piracy, distributing crack/illegal games is.

I had the same problem...actually it was opposite.I coudn't hear shoting and walking, but everything related to car...BEEEP. So I suggest you to try finding another GTA cd or Download it again. That's how I solved it.

Do you hear any sounds on your PC? Or you can't hear any sound only on your GTA?
If you only can't hear iny sounds only on your GTA I think you should try Open GTA ---> Press the ESC Button(But if you're already playing, skip this step) ---> Option ---> Audio Setup then make the SFX and Radio louder.

This is caused by having a non-complete/corrupt "audio" folder and files, can be simply fixed by downloading a clean backup of that folder, or getting a sound mod that replaces all of the files.

Noob Answer: Try checking your audio settings in game and see if all of the bars are high.
OR
In your GTA:SA directoy, which should look something like \Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\, in the root directory, you'll find a file called "eax.dll". It would appear that this file is the problem.
Now, go onto google.com and search for eax.dll. You should find one which is version 3.0.6.6. (Funnily enough, the version that GTA:SA comes with is version 4.0.0.1)
Once you've downloaded "eax.dll" 3.0.6.6, rename the "eax.dll" in your GTA:SA directory to something else of your choosing, then copy the "eax.dll" that you just downloaded into the GTA:SA directory. At this point, if you've turned down your hardware acceleration, turn it back on.
Load up GTA:SA, and you should find that your audio problems are now GONE!!! Woohoo!!! The audio should also sync back up with the video also. (I don't know why, but it does)
OR
Check your volume settings on the right task bar and check if they are not muted
