This is an idea that popped into my head.
What this is about is somebody high in authority in the Argonath community shall lead this United Nations and leaders from different groups/clans/families/gangs/enforcement groups etc... should be voted in or out of the U.N. and major problems should be discussed.
Also, to reinforce the U.N., the leader should gather a strong army just in-case trouble does arise, and business should be taken into their own hands. So this is like a peace keeping thingy if you get were I'm coming from.
I know there is an A.R.U.N or something but most of their discussions are in private, and they give the group that's being discussed no say which really provokes them and pisses them off. So yeah this is an idea, just a suggestion ^_^

ADF

ADF
ADF's an army, and not really high ranked in the community.
When I mean high ranked I mean like the mayors of Los Santos etc.
-
Uhhh yeah this already exists. Has existed for months. (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=89009.0)

Phail topic.. :poke:

We have this already, it's called A.R.U.N. It's almost identical to what you've suggested. If you knew this already, why suggest it?
-
I guess you didn't read about what I said regarding A.R.U.N, okay then

To those who keep asking the same question, the original poster already stated it in his first post:

In the ideal world this would be brilliant, however we live in this world, A.R.U.N. is the end product the same concept discussed here. Any attempt at creating another/new U.N. would result in the same.
-
I think it is a work in progress. :)
In 2012 more developments were made with ARUN and its wide role emerged.
Right now it's predominantly limited to SA:MP, from what I can gather, but hopefully through dedication and active guidance it will become stable hold a significant position in inter-community roleplay.

Although I agree that a second ARUN would be a bad idea, I actually have to agree with some of the changes suggested. Having closed discussions which shut out specific official or unofficial groups only makes them feel less equal than those with access, leading to even more fights and issues that they are trying to discuss. Although the official groups should be Diplomats to oversee such situations to help guide unofficial groups along, everyone should be able to access and create said conversations to resolve their issues together, with or without help.

It's like you read my mind, I really really really do think that ALL of ARUN's discussions about groups should be public, or public to everybody who is involved in the discussion

That is why representatives from both official and unofficial groups are allowed to join ARUN and they're also told to discuss everything with their group members as well to get their feedback. Group leaders are often the representatives and for good reason.

I don't think that every A.R.U.N member is allowed whether they want to close a group or not. I think that ARUN should be their to stop conflict, not to try and shut groups down!

Groups are accepted based on the discretion of one person. They are not just immediately accepted either. They are chosen as to whether they should join or not.

However, each group is given the chance to join IF they're deemed worthy enough (reputation/amount of members). That means everyone that can get their act together can get in or it's just SAMP ideas.

Why should they have to prove their worthiness to discuss issues they are having with other groups? That hardly makes sense, as it defeats the entire purpose of the whole system.

Almost every group is given the chance to join. The minimum member requirement is around 4 or 5. It's simple enough to contact administration regarding any serious problems that people are facing with other groups. Actually; disregard my last comment, even the groups who aren't that great (for the lack of a better word) such as Lectone were given the chance to join. They only had to prove their worthiness while contributing to the discussion.
p.s - Come on MTA:VC :)

Major problems discussed - Already taken care of
Reinforce? ARUN will never need such power, and should need be, ARUN is supreme over all player made groups and can hence call up aid from the ARPD and player made militias..
3. Our discussions are not at all intended to do anything like that, if anything you can approach any of the ARUN diplomats if you believe you have something to add. Or if you have any actual problems, thats why Clans and Groups moderators are made...
Also just to sprout out a unhealthy thought, nobody in ARUN is inspected on whether they are "Worthy" enough, we give every group a fair chance to join. Factions like Ancelotti have the same chance to join as Factions such as Gulucan.
Diplomats are inspected on grounds of whether they will be able to conduct themselves professionally, whether the mafia has too much reputation or whether the group Diplomat is active or not e.t.c

I actually attempted to Patent this a while back, my patent was denied, yet a couple of months later ARUN opened.
Go figure. :\

Don't give up on your ideas! If someone else makes something before you, still attempt to share your ideas with them so you can both better improve it. That way, more people can have even more fun with it. :)

I found my patent attempt!

The League of Nations was the forerunner to the UN, so that's what my ideas was based on.

Wow. That was an...odd...way for the case to end.
Either way, it's nice to see that someone had tried to come up with something so creative prior to it's actual creation. Keep up the good work man. Even though someone beat you to this idea becoming official, it doesn't mean you won't have more down the road worth suggesting! Remember, it's ideas like these which make Argo so unique and fun to play in! :)

There was a rollback in summer 2010; a lot of posts were lost, including those posted in Court boards.

Ah. I figured he meant something else by that reply. I forgot about the forum issues we had way back then.

It's politics, a lot of sensitive issues, so it happens behind closed doors, nothing odd.
Any group can currently get access to ARUN if they so please, afaik.

I know of several groups who have requested it and haven't gotten access yet. Right now, it's the decision of one or more people running ARUN to accept groups or not. The groups within ARUN do not make this decision, nor does anyone get accepted upon request.
