Right guys, I've got some terrible FPS problems.. I'm only getting 20-40 frames while in the menu I'm getting around 100.
I got the frame limiter of and I don't have anything except fraps and skype.
PC specs:
AMD Athlon 3x 2.2ghz
4 GB RAM DDR3
HD3200 256 MB graphic card.
What would be a solution ? Since my PC should handle GTA without problems.
-
Having more FPS in a game menu is common.
The graphics card is a little weak but you could update the drivers to see if a difference will be made or adjust the graphics settings panel for your card.
-
Ain't working.
-
Is this something that recently happened or has it always been this way?
-
It's like this since they gave back my computer when they reinstalled windows.. I'm reinstalling Catalyst now and that might help a lot

So now,the problem is obvious that is the re-install of Windows?Yes,Re-installing Catalyst Control Center might help, not sure.

Updating my Direct X... Might have found the problem since AMD does only update the newest Direct X. Might be a small mistake from the prog.
-
Seems you are now sorted with the directx update?
-
Not really... Became bugged again

Okay, a few solutions.
First of all, lower your draw distance and make the Visual FX quality to low (since the very high option makes the game ugly). After that try /fpslimit 90
Second, you could try the program "GTA Shrinker" which makes the game ugly, but it shrinks it for a higher FPS and a lower resolution. To install the program, just google it and/or download (http://www.sendspace.com/file/dsrfa8) from the link I provided you.
Then,
1. Unzip and double click on GTAShrinker.exe
2. Check the GTA:SA Directory box is correct
3. Click 'Shrink'
4. Wait till its done
5. Close GTAShrinker
6. Play SAMP at the chunky textures.
Hope it helps!
And if you want to restore it to normal, just open it and click restore (But first check the GTA SA directory).
:ps:
Not responsible for what happens to your GTA, but if there's a problem and I know the solution - I will help.
-
Dude, that's perfectly normal for those specs. :trust:

GTA is made for a 2000 Geforce series.
Please.. It worked fine on my 7000 GeForce which is way lower then this one.
I tryed what Kavensky told me.. It worked.
I can't get why my GPU doesn't allow me to get more out of it, anyone a idea how to overclock it since it is possible. Bios is blocked so...

I know, but dude, even I get around 70FPS in SA:MP and I have a 2GB GT650. lol
-
I remember having weak FPS on a 256mbit graphics card - and I was on a 1024x768 res. I can't imagine your game being faster than ~30.
If you're really sure your computer handled GTA better before the windows reinstall, it's probably a driver issue... Can't think of anything else.

70 FPS? :fh:
Your laptop has a high rating with an i7 and all of that, yet 70 FPS.. I sit with 100 FPS on an old Core 2 Duo..
-
It's a laptop, so is mine to a bit.. It's a all in 1, so.
Kind of the same design.

I get 100+ in SP, but yes, I get around 70 in SA:MP with ENB and few other mods.
I wasn't getting more than 50 until today, when someone suggested me to turn Vsync off for SA in NVIDIA control panel. :devroll:
Ofc, I need to do some tweaking, will post a link regarding my graphics soon.
-
So it's basically fixed now?
-
Turn off frame limiter :devroll:

Okaaaay, here we go.
Go down the bottom right of your screen and hover over your battery meter.
Click it once and go into 'more power options'
The screen should say 'select a power plan'
On the plan which is selected, select 'change plan settings'
When the settings come up, at the bottom, above save changes and below the brightness settings, it will say 'changed advanced power settings,' click that.
Some settings should come up, and there'll probably be a scroll bar on the side, scroll to the bottom.
Expand the 'processor power management' section
Expand the 'System cooling policy'
Change both on battery and plugged in to 'Active.'
Shrink the processor power management and ensure you are at the bottom of the scroll bar still. There may be an option which says 'ATI Graphics Power Settings.' If you have this, expand it.
Expand any menus that come up, most probably about 'powerplay.' Change the settings on battery and plugged in to 'Maximize Performance'
Hopefully this should improve your situation.
