I have recently had a problem with Windows Movie Maker 2.0, in that whenever I try to save anything as a Movie File, it fails. The project saves fine. I have tried multiple mediums for the save, including Web, CD-R, and Hard-Drive. There is plenty of space (over 10gb) so thats not the problem, all original files exist as normal, and the movie plays fine in the WMM preview window.
As soon as the save progress bar appears (for a second) the save fails. I think its something wrong with the saving code or something, but upon a reinstall of WMM no improvement is seen. I have also tried it with single clips with no soundtrack or text as a test, so nothing wrong with this particular movie.
Any ideas? :)

try save as...
it's a rare problem.

like PMP said
Save as > all files > movie.WMV add in the file name extention, like wmv or .mp4 etc
try that..might not work..

There is no "Save as", only "Save Project as" (which saves merely the links to the movie file, and the compilation) and "Save Movie File" (which actually renders the movie and saves it). Unfortunately, it won't render and the 'Save Project As' button has only one saving option, which is the Moviemaker Project File.
I'm stumped
It's kinda hard to do another way, since I already made it, and my other PC would require emailing over 1 GB of uncompressed Fraps recording. :D
I also can't get my head around the RAM eating Sloth that is Adobe Premiere Pro.

look, I'm sure, Dave is right, I just did that
Save project as...>>select all files in type of file>> write the name you want for the file and add .WMV in the end>> save and voilá.

Ill try to help over MSN. :D

No such option, only the Project File extension.

Why is everione picking up on VISTA, like We have a choice when buying a new pc.

Vista sucks so bad, if a new PC I ordered ever came with it, I would actually send it back and demand "A working copy of Windows". So not Vista, please.
Any help on-topic? ;)
