Dear Argonathians,

I would like to welcome you to the Argonath RPG Oscars 2012 nomination topic!

It's been a few years since this event has been organized in Argonath RPG, but a few weeks ago we decided to make this great event return!

A lot has happened in the last year - we have made new friends,  but we've also lost a few. It has been a nice year for many of us. If it hasn't, let this year be a peaceful and joyful year for all of us!

New administrators have been selected, and some have left the team. We have seen a few interesting bans and a few accidental bans. It has been a year which could be called an enlightenment for a few of us in Argonath, but also in real life. We have been given a few new servers, like the Flight Simulator X (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?board=240.0) server lead by Janek and the LU (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?board=209.0) server lead by SugarD.


The Argonath Oscars 2012 nomination topic will have a few very clear regulations. You have to face the consequences on your own if you are not able to comply with them.

General rules:


Failing to comply with these rules will result  in a temporary ban of 60 minutes in-game (serious cases permanent ban) or a forum mute of 15 days (new players excluded) and will get you disqualified.

Voting rules:


Failing to comply with these rules will result in votes being disqualified.

Please note: We reserve the right to disqualify votes without notice or reason, and to forbid you to vote in certain circumstances.

As you can see the rules are stricter than the past years. We have noticed a few problems in  past years with this event. In order to avoid these problems there are a few new rules.

For the ones who have questions, suggestions, ideas, concerns, comments, a complaint or for the ones who wouldn’t like to vote in public, there is an e-mail address to send your messages to:

Very happy to see this back :) Just one thought tho, why so in hurry to stop votes? That's like only 5 days and then voting is off. In that time many votes can be missed when not all of us look at forums daily  :neutral:

No. That was part of the reason why the Oscars were stopped a couple years ago.

It isn't allowed though. And like SugarD said, Oscars were stopped because of this reason.. its just simply cheating.

This is not allowed! Like the others said this is one of the reasons why the Oscars were stopped. If someone is caught at doing this we have the appropriate solution for that person.

Well...this voting system dosn't work because people doing it wrong. There is website you can fix a correct and fair voting system.

How are you going to know who's voted and who hasn't? The only way this would work if you had to sign in with your Argonath forum account to be allowed one vote only.

Hello everyone.

I got one question.

Let's be honest. How can best family of 2012 be a family which is:

3 months in 2012 (Blaze)
6 months in 2012 (Scotto)
inactive more than half of the year and rest of the year with 0-2 players online everyday (Corleone)
closed in 2011 and re-opened in 2013 (Sforza)

Why is surely the best and most active family in 2012 disqualified ?
It would be fair to discount the votes from DQed players and not to DQ whole group.

Sorry bud, I speak the truth.
It doesn't matter if they have been active for 1 week in the entire year or daily, if a group has displayed the true qualities of a great group/family, then they deserve the award more than another group.

It's all about how the members represent the group during all of their time in-game and on forums, if they earn the respect then good for them.

People will vote for who they feel is best in THEIR own opinion. Not what others think. That's the whole idea of the Oscars. It's not to parade around asking for votes.

If you did a good job, people will vote for you.

It's not disallowed to vote for your own group (I don't see it in the rules). But you can't vote for people from your group.
