Title: Mail-issue
Post by: AK47 on March 29, 2013, 04:26:17 pm
Is the correct email "[email protected]"? I tried to send an email but I got the error-answer back.

And as this is an urgent thing I want it to be delivered.

What error message did you receive? This is also posted in the wrong board, as it is a technical issue, not a SA:MP one.

"Delivery Status Notification (failure)".

Ah my bad! Please move it.

Does the error email contain any further information about it? Sometimes within the spammy technical code, it will give further information as to what caused the failure, or why the mail server rejected it.

The server email addresses have never been .eu, and have always been .com. When did this change?

Been like this for a long time as far as I know.

I checked by emails the other day and an old email I sent to .com 2 years a go bounced, .eu worked fine.

Well I believe there was a redirect in place for the .com emails, but it appears that this isn't working?

So send them to .eu

He never mentioned anything about that. In fact, I believe someone not long ago mistakenly emailed the SA:MP address at .eu and it failed, but worked on .com for them. There could be an outage too, but this is definitely odd.

For now, I'd advise sending emails to both .com and .eu - it wont hurt.

Just send a copy to both emails, I can not tell you for certain what I do not know, only Gandalf knows this information for certain.

Isn't a simple work re-send all the reports, I'll do it anyway.

Only re-send the ones that failed.

As Reece mentioned, it won't hurt to send them to both addresses if you get a failure message. The incorrect location will bounce them anyway. If you plan to send a lot, I would recommend adding a note in the bottom of the emails which states you are sending to both addresses, in case they both go through.

Since now, I will send my reports to both mails, what there are some mails I already sent. And will not be a simple work re-send them but it seems I will have to do it.

Forward them to the address(es), but before sending them, remove the "FWD" or "Forward" text from the subject and/or body of the email. It's an easy little trick to do it. If you have images, you'll need to reattach them too, depending on how your email service works.

As far as I can remember I've always been redirected to [email protected] by the administrators. :D
