Post by: Brian on April 02, 2013, 07:28:27 pm
Hey guys, I'm back

Lately, after GTX 275 update 314.22 I have this weird problem, everytime I start playing GTA SA, BF3 and maybe other games (havent tried yet) my computer goes spacing. I tried going to update 314.21, but I still have this issue. I am really out of hope and not sure what to do. I have the nvadia GTX 275.

I also get the following error when my computer goes wild

(its in dutch)
The ScreenControlProgram Nvadia Windows kernel mode driver, version 314.22 stopped responding and is fixed (translated)

I am really out of hope, as I cannot play GTA SA and BF3 anymore. I hope one of you can help

The spacing, My screens gets all weird colors, I sometimes hear my sound freeze, and then I can see my desktop and the error, soon after that my screen blacks out, and I have to restart my PC or it restarts itself. Anyone has a idea, Please help!

I'm nowhere near an expert on this, but did you uninstall the software of your old graphics card and then install the software of your new one? I fitted my own graphics card on the PC I'm using now and it did not work because the old software was installed, although my uncle had to come out and fit some more power leads as I fitted it wrong.

Simple graphics drivers error.
Uninstall all Nvidia related drivers then reboot your system, download the latest/or use the last drivers if you still have them and install them.

At the start of the install it will ask you for Express or Custom install, choose Custom and select "Clean Install", this will remove all registry entries and old files leftover and as it says, perform a clean install.

Remember to reboot after installing the drivers.

You've either got a driver error or hardware error.
Do you have no old Nvidia drivers laying around to install?

Maybe your brother took it out of his computer wrong before he gave it to you and the static off his body (or yours) screwed it, personal experience..

Take a look at these two sites:

Public service announcement: iehighutil.exe (http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=1886245&mpage=1)

Graphics driver crashes iehighutil.exe (Malware) (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18493714)

The last possibility is a dead graphics card.

The card is probably dead, open the BIOS and see if it blacks out after some time or if it stays in the BIOS with the screen on without a problem.

if it stays black all throughout it's dead

or unplugged

If the card is dead the system will revert to the onboard graphics which will result in nothing being displayed on any adapter connected to the GPU.

Are both of the 6pin power connectors attached to the card?

If the computer starts normally otherwise (no error beeps, fans keep on running etc.) then the graphics card is dead, simple as that.
