Not exactly "news", I know.
With the recent acquisition of the Star Wars franchise by Disney, there was a lot of speculation as to the fate of future games. Who will be making them? Will we see the revival or continuation of any old series? (KOTOR specifically sprung to mind here, as I feel SWTOR completely ruined the series for me).
Well, it seems EA have secured the rights for the publication of future games:

Upon hearing that it would be EA, I initially lost all hope - mainly due to my general hatred of the company. However, given their success with various titles, they could potentially make some brilliant games; Battlefront 3 - the long awaited sequel - could be created on the Battlefield engine, which would be totally f**king awesome. Furthermore, the cancelled project Star Wars 1313, a darker game that has more of an emphasis on the bounty hunter/smuggler side as opposed to Jedi and lightsabers, could be rebooted - Dead Space, Mass Effect... it could work.
So, for any Star Wars fans out there, is there anything in particular you're hoping EA will provide? I personally would like to see another installation of the X-Wing series - Alliance still remains to this day one of the best games ever made.

RIP Star Wars franchise. Will be nothing than a failure if EA is to publish the games.
-
EA made the 3 best sci-fi outer space games ever, for every Star Wars fan this should be a sign of hope.

I'd like to see something with the ancient stuff like KOTOR 1 and 2 again. These stories were really nice.

You mean LucasArts did? Or are you just thinking post-2010?

We can at least hope... :(

Oh? And they were?
-
It's probably the three Dead Space games that he is referring to, which weren't good.
-
Oh I dunno, the first two games were really enjoyable (and extremely jumpy) but I haven't got around to playing the third yet - although I hear it's a bit of a letdown.

Yes.

DREAMS DO COME TRUE

EA with frostbite 3 will make the game twice more kickass then it was. Can't wait for it.
-
The game might be awesome, but it's how EA is trying to milk every game on money that ruins it.

Do explain <
They have the best selling games ever.
Battlefield series
Command & Conquer series
Crysis series
Dead Space series
Medal of Honor series
Need for Speed series
Don't get me wrong I'm a valve fan but EA can actually make the best out of Star wars if they plan it right.

They fucked the Need for Speed with Most Wanted imo.

They can start by upgrading their servers to cope with demand then.

They confirmed DICE are working on "Battlefront" at E3. Star Wars Battlefront 2 was pretty brilliant and the only star wars game I have played - it's going to be good.

the only star wars game I have played
Man, you are missing out.
