Windows 8 is essentially a tablet version of Windows 7, although Windows 8 runs a different kernel and is faster in some fields, it still can not be beaten by Windows 7 in terms of design and overall ease of use.
If you have a tablet, Windows 8 would be the easiest to use, but for a PC/Laptop I have to say Windows 7 is still the best option.
Everyone has their own opinion on things, but if you have the choice, rather stick with Windows 7.

Okay thanks for shedding a light onto us.So I am gonnaa glue myself with win 7

If you have a PC, get Windows 7.
-
Windows 7, at least for now, 8 still has many issues with it.
Great potential, but has many rough edges still to be cleared.

Even if you have a touchscreen, get windows 7.
Windows 8 has a lot of bugs and it's very bad.

Explain the issues related to Windows 8.
I have used both Win 7 home premium and Win8 basic/Pro in last 2 years. And I must say, I'm glued to Win8, its fantastic. Those who criticize it have never even used Win8.
Also Win8 is essential on laptops these days as boot time even on a normal HDD is mere 15 seconds. ;)
The only problem for many would be that probably its not as easy to pirate Windows 8 as it is to pirate Win7. Luckily I have legit versions of both. ;) And I own both versions of Win8 legitimately.

People really shouldn't pass negative judgement about Windows 8 if they haven't used it for at least a month.
I have been using it for 5 months now and I can say that there are some features I do not exactly like, and there are those that are far easier to use.
Over all the official release of Windows 8 is not as buggy as some people like to claim after trying the test builds before the official release.

Windows 8 certainly needs to grow on you, considering the new "Charms bar" and the start menu, but that's all you'll need. Of course it's focused on touch-screens, but it works good on desktops as well.
Windows 7 if you cannot cope with the changes however, It still stays strong, and probably will be.
Or stick to windows XP like me :devroll:

I agree with Devin, use it first before you complain. Been using Win8 since November now, never had any issues at all, its just as compatible as other versions of windows if not more. And I run loads of programs and games, like 100s of them. The only thing that needed a patch was Borderlands 2. Everything else works just as smooth and normal.
I do agree Win8 interface is ugly as heck with no aero and stuff. But there are third party themes, I even wrote a tutorial for the one I use and it looks brilliant! People always ask me how I got that theme.
The tutorial I wrote :

+ Win8 supports side by side multitasking, unlike older versions.
:ps: Win XP is still the most used OS in the world.
and by multitasking I don't mean window in window -_- I mean this, these are screens from my own laptop using windows 8 video app. (Click images to see original size)

And ofcourse, you can move it to right side too ;)
and this is a hot corner, using top left one here. The ones on right bring charm menu.

You know why I don't like Windows 8? Because I've used Mac OS, and it fucking sucks. Like, it's literally fucking awful with no redeeming features whatsoever.
Microsoft attempting to copy it is just a joke, and that's exactly what they're doing.
P.S. I had a rant that was like 5 or 6 lines longer than this, but it just made me sound mad, because.. I am. Damnit Microsoft, stop making shit.

This, really.
When I heard they were going into a new direction with Windows 8, I was already worried that 'this' would happen. Even although some of it may be new, most of it just reminds of the crap Apple has let out a few years prior to the release of Windows 8.
Windows 7 is still the best base for over 90% of all applications, due to its simplicity. As in, there are no benefits on that area in Windows 8, just a lot more stuff you're not going to want to use.
-
I'd prefer 7 as it's much simpler to use.

How's windows 8 hard to use when its just like 7 just with a few tweaks for touchscreens and speed and metro UI? :trust:

Win 8 looks good.I just installed it it fancy.
