Title: Man held hostage in his own home
Post by: Dean. on May 31, 2013, 10:20:24 am: After two boys of 15/16 year old robbed a local store they decided to break into a house and take the owner as a hostage, with a fire-arm. The Dutch police was waiting outside when suddenly the hostage and the suspect came out, the police decided to use that to free the hostage. One of the robbers was shot. The hostage was not harmed.

It totally depends on the circumstances. I'm sure that the officer only went for his firearm due to the fact that the suspect was a serious threat.

Police generally won't use a tazer against a suspect with a gun considering they have a gun. American cops may carry a tazer in some areas but not always as they have a gun.

Exactly. I would find it very odd if an armed officer went for his tazer against an armed suspect.
