The following phases are what I believe everyone has gone through, or is going through. Its based on my knowledge and experience. I may be wrong too and you may be different from this. But to some extent we all do this. :)
The New Phase
You're new. You try to blend in and work for money. Rulebreaking is common. You get angry upon losing cash and you are known for your bad communicating skills. Nobody trusts you on cop duty and nobody accepts you in a family or group. You know its tough life and you work hard.
Common topics from new players include removal of NRG in case they are cops. And removal of freecops if they are criminals :D
The Understanding Phase
You think you're great. You have a house, infernus and NRG, you're in a nice family and you try to work more for higher ranks. Understanding of roleplay increases. Friends/enemies increase too. But rulebreaking is still common. People consider you as a regular and this is the time when most players get banned. You're after ranks and money and advantages over others. And for that, you do bad things.
Cops are trying to get in SAPD, and criminals in big crime families like Gvardia. Your communicating skills are very improved and you roleplay usimg /me and use /em for Non- roleplay chat. A little misunderstandings but you're trying to get the hang of this roleplay thing.
The Semi Pro
People think they're the best. Rich, high ranked. Perfect in roleplay. You try to preach others how they're using /em incorrectly and that Argo doesn't support IC and OOC. Your forum ideas include removal of state cars, high emphasis on roleplay and you think you're doing amazing. You continue increasing money and aim towards the top. You're at least 1 year old and people know you. Your sole dream may be to become a moderator now. Your english is absolutely perfect and you joke around and laugh at those who are bad at it and people who may have not achieved the position you have.
Your fun is sometimes even on the expense of others.
The real Pro
Believe me, the transition from semi pro to Pro is very difficult. People remain stuck at Semi pro for long times. I myself used to be stuck there when a very good friend made me realize things.
You now truly realize the true meaning of Argonath. The world of its own. The true meaning of why freecops are there, why suspects are orange and why state cars are not removed. Why are we not a RL RP. Money and rank is no longer a concern. You may think you dont like money, but really think about it. Do you? Your ranks dont matter now.
You realise the true meaning. Its a game and virtual rank or money doesnt matter. What matters is friendship. Thats the only thing you play it for. You never seem to be angry about silly things, you domt worry if you die, you dont worry about anything. You abide by rules and you love others even if they hate you.
Im not sure how it might be for others, but from various people I know, these are the phases we go through. Some people may even skip phases or stay stuck at one. Its not your personality. Having a good friend may change you, like it changed me.
Bans are also common in this phase when money or rank doesnt matter to you and instead of being good, you act as a troll and have fun over the expense of others. You ruin others fun and thats when it goes bad.
People honestly call me a troll, and I sometimes do behave like one. But what matters is that the joke is to be funny and not hurting anyone. :)
I know people who are serious all the time. This may be an RPG server, but theres a reason why its a world of its own. Its about love, friendship, being a nice person and enjoying a little in our stressful lives. Thats the true meaning of Argonath RPG.

I'm probably just probably at the 'Semi-Pro' level
Nevertheless, this is just a game and I am here to have fun.
-
1- You're happy when you play on Argonath, everything is so awesome.
2- You're going online because you have nothing else to do.
-
I'm at the New Phase I suppose
Well written as always James, if I don't know you, I'd say you're 50 years old psychiatrist playing a virtual game.

I think this is pretty nonsense.
To begin with, this doesn't apply to SA:MP alone. Then, no idea what this topic depicts at all. Pointless.
-
But I don't have an infernus and nrg1!
-
I am stuck in semi pro the last think you wire about that is about friendship and having fun made me cry a little bit

I completely agree with "The Real Pro's" vision. Its actually how I feel after 1 and a half years in here. This is just addictive, I must say. And even if I care when I die, It doesnt really matter as it did before. I play in here because the whole community is like a big family. No server has this attitude on the main chat like this one, I say NO ONE. And Im glad to be part of it. Thank you all for this amazing experience Im living :')
-
Real pro's.. and rest names are just hilarious, We don't need tittles, each of us know exactly where he is and where's he is standing... even I feel a completely newbie at times when I join the server after a while and see so many things changed.. (Ex; hadn't played for 2 months... came back, Mordor was changed yet for 3rd or 4th time.. and many more things)

I am feeling newbie after reading those, I've spent almost 2 years here, Yes sometimes I feel that I'm pro because I don't care about Money, houses or cars, All I care about is having friends that respect me and I respect em, I don't know I feel the shittiest but Ill still looking for friends, Thanks god that gave me the chance to meet great players like you and also thanks to Gandalf, Aragorn and Sauron for giving us this chance, Thanks James

this isnt pointless this is the meaning of playing in argonath samp server, every word is like a hard rock

Some of this is very true . Although there should be a "troll" stage, for those people who no longer play for any good reasons, they just enjoy annoying people in main chat and seeing how long they can go before being banned. You either develop from "Semi Pro" to "The real pro" or "Troll".
-
use /em for Non- roleplay chat.
But that's wrong.
You try to preach others how they're using /em incorrectly
fuck
I think this is pretty nonsense.
I was gonna come in here with the same response but upon reading the OP it's not actually that wrong.
The only thing I would add is the mystery fifth stage, where you become a fairly cynical git when you finally realise and understand.. a few things. Although I suppose even that was mentioned in some way. Calling it a "troll" stage would be completely unfair though, as many people in that category never troll or act unnecessarily unpleasantly towards anyone.
Also, at some point in that process you start thinking things like "Hey, this topic about Argo phases is good for such a new player to have written" when, in this case, that player joined like 3 years ago. It's all relative.
-

I did never say anything James has said was wrong, I did say, however, that this is pointless.
And I feel you about the troll stage.

^this. It's just when you're careless about the amounts you have. You just come to troll around with random vehicles ramming people off or interrupting/ruining roleplay and other stuff (i.e trolling, misleading a person in mainchat etc.)
-
Jacub. Are freecups allowed to halp fbi in interrogates?
-
Interesting topic! I wouldn't flatter myself by calling myself pro, but I can definitely relate to the idea of money and expensive houses/cars not meaning so much any more...!
A good read...impressed with that!
