Title: Expected downtime (all German Services)
Post by: Sauron on June 13, 2013, 10:09:35 pm: Due to large maintenance we are expecting a downtime in the coming days.
This downtime will be as short as possible but could be a couple of days.

In case of downtime we will switch domain to Argonath Club site, and return once the downtime is over.
This will be valid for all servers, and all sites running on the German IP's.
Nothing to worry about, we will return without loss of data according to expectations.

We wouldn't need to pull down all services in order to update RS5, considering a test server is running on the same machine all we gotta do is change the ports around and within 5 minutes RS4 is RS5.

No.
We had 100+ ping because the "test" server is from Canada, which later on Gandalf told us that it isn't the test server.. so we I guess are moving to .. Canada, yay, now I need to find out how to kill an polar bear.

Unfortunatelly i have to agree about that since 2013 we got mulpt DDoS attacks and one of them like 3 week another one 1 week and now its been a one week too . I have to think same situation with Lustigkurre.

No idea, probably another Canadian host as my ping hits 380 lol.

Gandalf is doung everything in his power to keep servers online. what you have to understand ddos protectionis expensive and Gandalf has limited money to do what he needs. So if you would like to assist argonath get fhat ddos protection the expensive protection which would assist donate. Now is the tome gandalf needs it most.

Myself and a friend have setup a Argonath Teamspeak 3 Backup server for when servers go down due to DDOS. This will enable everyone to still be able to communicate and enjoy time with each other

I have spoken to Gandalf regarding and from what I was told it is ok. This teamspeak will not allow players to break any rules like advertising and such however this is a teamspeak to keep communication between players through voice.
