Press ESC again when it happens.

Or run your gta and samp as admin.

Belive it or not, but it worked, i kept pausing, i tabbed and went on facebook went back ingame and it worked, thanks Emmet, and Phil for helping me out,
Much appreciated.
EDIT: all i did was press properties on SAMP and set privileges to Admin and the same for San Andreas single player and hey presto no more bug.

You can also change control settings from within the game menu from keyboard to joy pad then back.

The Escape method is the only known one that actually fixes it once it happens. Alt-tabbing is already pausing the game, so you get the same effect. It's a known issue in all the III-canon 3D GTA games. It can commonly happen with single-player too, but it's brought out more commonly by multiplayer mods for unknown reasons. Many have claimed to have fixed it, but so far no one actually has. This is one you can blame Rockstar Games for.

It has been fixed. See below.
Mousefix.asi ... Download - http://www.sendspace.com/file/pj6sso (http://www.sendspace.com/file/pj6sso)
Drop it into your GTA SA Directory. You will also need a ASI loader which you can get here - http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=21709 (http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=21709)
Same as the mousefix.asi drop all files into your GTA SA Drectory and overwrite any files it replaces.
The mouse bug will never happen again with this. Don't believe me? Try it yourself, works wonder's been using it for months.

It doesn't truly fix it. It only prevents it from happening as often. All those ASI fixes for all GTA's have been tested thoroughly to make sure. Some people don't get the Escape bug very often, so this will only ensure they won't. For others who get it often, this is only a partial remedy.
The bug is a port-related issue in the game engine itself. Memory hooks can't fix this directly, as the design of the ported engine is the problem.

It's not a partial remedy, it fixes it completely.
I used to get it all the time but ever since I started using it last year I have not encountered it again.

Then you have just been lucky. As a GTA MP mod developer, I can guarantee that this is not a 100% fix. It may work in your situation, but it won't work in every single person's. The problem with this bug lies deeper within the game than what ASI's can reach on GTA's startup.

Not lucky, I know other people who had the same issue and when I told them about the mousefix they haven't encountered again either.
All I will say it work's and does a damn good job of it.

As I mentioned, not everyone will have the same success. Some may, but not all.
I don't disagree that it's helpful, though.
