What an asshole. I race ATVmotocross and thats my hobby. I waist thousands of dollars a year just to keep myself and my machine running. I don't make any profit off of that. These guys are obviously low lived enough to not see that this is everyones hobby and we're willing to spend money for our hobbies. So ridiculous.

It's a shame to see people stoop so low as to try to ruin a community that has been putting in so much hard work, especially financially, to allow us to play the games we love with other people. What does he believe to gain after doing these unusual things? No one knows. But it just shows that the people to attempt to sabotage the community have no life, and love to watch people suffer.

Considering they are committing felonies, they will also be losing many of their rights once paroled from prison, such as the ability to have a gun, freedom of police search, and being disallowed many other Constitutional rights on state and federal levels. They will also never be legally allowed to pursue their dream careers that they love to brag so much about.
I guess we'll have to wait and see if they open up their eyes, or end up continuing to not use their brains and regret it later on in life...

Anyone interested in a worlds hardest game?
If you like motocross, then I suggest trying MX Simulator. It's not like other SIM games which are boring as hell. Pro series have REAL LIFE money prizes, but it also takes ALOT of practicing. I've been playing it for almost a year and I'm not even near winning the series. Game actually costs 42€ and 70% of the people rage quit the game in about a week.
I'm not advertising the game here, just suggesting what to do if you're bored. I really hope I won't get any troubles for talking about other games in this community.
P.S! This game requires alot of commitment, so cheers.

Well, when you get busted for anything related really, and on top of that, give out the alias you use elsewhere, admit that you're part of hacker forums and other shit, police is more likely to listen to someone telling them that the same guy attacked your servers. Adds to the charges.

The FBI's cyber-security division alone receives millions, if not billions, of complaints a year. The biggest ones get immediate attention, but that does not mean the little ones are forgotten about. They don't just close the report and say "screw it". They still have to be investigated, by law. Now that may mean years down the road due to a lack of funding, resources, time, and manpower, but they still look into it nonetheless. When they begin seeing patterns of repeat offenses, they will also take action. As I mentioned before, tsgh_mike is not the first one to be caught attacking us. Several others in the past have been reported and caught in various ways, both directly and indirectly. Our little friend here was just lucky that no one had bothered to look into him sooner. Funny thing too...a few other articles about this also implicate at least two other ex-Argo haters as "hackers" being sought by authorities now...

Police have charged Michael Adams Jr., 22, of Marple, with falsely reporting weapons of mass destruction, false alarms to an agency of public safety, recklessly endangering another person and related offenses for the Sept. 16 incident.
Nothing about DDOSing or hacking. I realise you hate him this much, but this is just plain bullshit that he got caught for DDOSing Argonath. He got in the can only because he commited serious felonies which went too far.

Legally speaking, these are not simply "DDoS complaints", but can be grounds for a game developer (who works with real scripts, hardware, and scripters) to sue based on damages caused to a server network that costs thousands of dollars a year to maintain. Maybe those of you who do not understand the trouble that damages and loss of data may cause should try getting into programming or network maintenance. Unless you have, it's all too easy to sit on your ass and bitch whenever the server is down or the network is slow.
Not that I think FBI will give immediate priority to a case of our magnitude either, but the hypocrisy behind some of your "I love Argonath, BUT-" is disgusting.

Lets say Argonath was a community which made a substantial amount of profits, or, any degree of profits. Law enforcement would investigate and take action a lot more quickly. Typically when you start speaking loss of profits over a crime, including cyber they will investigate and they will execute action.
Lookup "n3ptun0". He was an infamous "hacker" who ddos'd SA:MP servers and has attacked a few sites and IRC networks in the GTA MP community. He was arrested after an investigation.
There are many more examples you could find which took place on smaller scales and smaller communities even than our own.

That isn't profit since the money goes back into the server. Profit would be if the income was greater than the expenses and the leftover was kept. In our case the income is far less than the expenses thus not profit.

Well donations are an income as income really means any money coming in, and donations do go in, what it's spent on doesn't matter as I doubt Argonath's owners by law have to spend the money on the server, no I'm not implying they spend donations on themselves..

People can't see you here, don't know where you are, who you are, you can cold hartedly tell someone to die under a train here and you will get warned/banned/muted for it, tell that to someone in real life and tell me if it went any different. There is no 'truth'. Its totally about everyones OWN opinion about RS5. Just because some don't like RS5, doesn't mean we must ruin it and go back to RS4 and upset the rest of the players.

While I agree that people who become fat out of laziness do not have the right to complaint about it, saying that all fat people should NOT get fat is just low. Perhaps people are unaware that the case of n3ptun0 was one where we also contributed in reporting, just as we have caught others over the years. If you think that nobody cares, try it out for yourself and you will find the truth.
By law we can spend donations as we want to. However we keep an accurate record of them so you can see for yourself that as we do not press for donations, nobody cares in general.
As for the attacks, they took some time to stop but as we run DDOS protection whoever wants to attack now has to pay serious money, which is why they stopped to happen.
Finally about RS4: Any rumours the script was deleted are completely and utterly false. We have it, and can run it any time we would want to. Wat was destroyed is 4 months of data. RS54 would have bee released by now in any case. Would it be good for playes to have first a roll-back of 4 months where players who joined in that time lost everything, only to have a reset a short time later?
I think that would have been unfair towards the players. And above all we still wish to be fair towards all, even to those who were never fair to us.

Nothing about DDOSing or hacking. I realise you hate him this much, but this is just plain bullshit that he got caught for DDOSing Argonath. He got in the can only because he commited serious felonies which went too far.
If you check the articles, they linked him to several other crimes. He was only arrested by local Law Enforcement, meaning only the local crimes were included. FBI is still investigating the matter for separate charges, including the other "hackers" he was linked to.
