Post by: S7ab_Tns on June 24, 2013, 04:04:43 am
Hi all.

I have a very high packet loss which effects my gameplay in a very bad way ( I cant even extinguish a fire while on fireman duty lol ...) ,I thought that problem is from my slow internet , so I got a faster one but my packet loss remained high ... and one of the problems is that the people at the internet agency are so fucking retarded they dont even what packet loss and ping are so they can't help me. Please give me any suggestions because I'm disperate lol.

     Regards.

Are you using a WiFi network or is it a hard connection?

You must try and determine whether the packet loss is between your computer and your router or your router and your ISP.

To do that, move your computer next to the router and connect it to the router with a LAN cable (RJ 45) and then test for packet loss. If you're using wireless then try use a cable instead as radio frequency can interfere with WiFi signals.

If you still have a high packet loss after trying that, the problem is either between your router and the ISP or your router itself.

I was using WiFi before , but now I'm using a LAN cable but the packet loss is still very high ... and BTW my packet loss is not stable it can go from 20% to 8% in few seconds.

So it looks like that the problem is between my router and the ISP, like I said before the ISP people are from stone age they dont even know what a ping is. What should I do now ?

Well if they're not able to or even willing to help you, consider changing providers?

After asking some guys about my problem(from my country) , they strongly advised me to change ISP because they used to have the same problem as mine and after that they change ISP their packetloss is now 0.0%. My problem seems to be solved , I'll change ISP :)

Thanks all for your help ^^

I guess the ISP isn't in the business of customer support or care, just for making money.
They're possibly overloading their servers to take in extra clients with outdated technology and their exchange isn't able to successfully manage so many connections.

Glad to see you have found a solution to your troubles.
